If you’re a Disney history fan, you love Disney movies, and you’re always wanting to know more about the Disney Parks, heads up. The Walt Disney Archives are kicking off their museum tour of the U.S., and it starts in California. We had the opportunity to preview the Inside the Walt Disney Archives exhibit this week — and included in the exhibit is the very first Disney Cast Member badge, the first Disney park ticket, and so much more.

Inside the Walt Disney Archives

Inside the Walt Disney Archives is the latest exhibit at the Bowers Museum, a local museum in Santa Ana, CA just four miles from the Disneyland Resort. The exhibit will be touring the United States, but the first few months of the tour will take place at the Bowers Museum. What would be a more appropriate place to kick off this exhibit’s display in the U.S. than Southern California, Walt Disney’s Backyard?

Inside the Walt Disney Archives includes glimpses into Disney history. There are several artifacts from the Disney Parks, props and costumes from fan-favorite films, and there is even a replica of Walt Disney’s office (the real thing is still at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank!). You could spend a whole day meandering through the exhibit and soaking up the Disney history. Or you can just go for an afternoon when you want to add a little magic to your week.

Inside the Walt Disney Archives will be on display through August 30 at the Bowers Museum. During this time, the Bowers Museum will also be hosting several special events, like a Walt Disney Archives Tour and Tea Party, an Eat Like Walt dinner celebration, an animation lecture, film screenings, a Disney Trivia Night, and so much more. You can visit the official website for more information.

Sneak Peek of the Exhibit

We don’t want to reveal too much about the exhibit, but we were definitely excited when we saw Disney Parks memorabilia. It’s just so amazing to see pieces of Disney history up close. The parks and films are always evolving, but as Walt Disney himself knew, we can’t let go of the past.

Here’s a closer look at the first Disneyland admission ticket, the first Disneyland Cast Member badge as well as some original tickets from Disney Parks all around the world:
