Disney Vacation Change Policy Coronavirus

The novel coronavirus known as COVID-19 continues to spread, but the fear of the virus is spreading even faster and causing even more destruction with quarantines, canceled events, and rescheduled vacations. But life goes on at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, and the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, as proper hygienic preventive measures are put in place, and the risk of infection remains significantly low in the United States.

Still, the Walt Disney Travel Company understands that some potential Guests are not so convinced that it is safe to travel and are looking to get out of their Spring Break and other imminent plans. So it has decided to adjust its policy regarding change fees and begin communicating those changes to ensure clients who book with Authorized Disney Vacation Planners understand their options.

The new policy is pretty simple. It states that the $50 change fee for Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort packages is waived so long as Guests change their reservations to a later date before January 1, 2021. All changes, of course, are subject to availability. If there is a price increase on the new desired dates, Guests will have to pay the difference. Additionally, all changes concerning air travel and third-party hotels must be taken up with those respective companies — Disney has no control over third-party hotel policies or airfare. If you wish to cancel your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort or the Disneyland Resort, the pre-existing cancelation fees still apply.
