Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance has had its fair share of breakdowns and malfunctions ever since it opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World on the East Coast and at Disneyland Park on the West Coast.
But, yesterday the Star Wars attraction experienced one of the worst delays yet — A 7 hour opening delay at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The theme park was scheduled to open at 7 am and, by no surprise, boarding groups were completely gone by approximately 7:01 am and backup boarding groups weren’t far behind. The issue? Boarding never actually began.
The morning hours passed on and it seemed as if no boarding groups were ever called into Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
Holy crap. Rise Of The Resistance was down for 7 hours today!! DHS must be a nightmare!! Godspeed to all of the cast members there.

It is being reported the first boarding groups weren’t called until approximately 2 pm, a total of 7 hours after park opening.
Twitter has been blowing up reporting that the very technology advanced Star Wars attraction has not been operating properly.

Opening Day Issues for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance experienced technical issues and breakdowns on both coasts opening day as well. At Walt Disney World, the attraction opened to the public on December 5, and it broke down almost immediately. One Twitter user even wrote, “2nd group for Rise of the Resistance ride opening day and on the first group the ride broke down 75% through and they evacuated everyone including people in line.”
And two hours into its big opening day on January 17, Disneyland’s Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance broke down as well.
The Bottom Line
Even though both coasts are experiencing multiple malfunctions with its new attraction, Disney guests are still loving the experience.

Just got off Rise of the Resistance and… Holy crap. The level of detail and technology used was just insane. Absolutely next level stuff, simply incredible. I'm not even a big Star Wars fan and I absolutely loved it. Possibly my new favourite ride ever!

This is by far a one-of-a-kind experience and an advancement moving forward with technology for attractions. If you get the opportunity to try it out, we highly recommend it!
