Epcot is making several changes as it reimagines the theme park, including updating one of its most popular stores, Mouse Gear.
Mouse Gear is now officially closed for refurbishment and Epcot has opened its new temporary location this morning, January 6. Disney guests who are looking to shop around can visit Mouse Gear’s temporary location, which is located just behind Electric Umbrella across the breezeway on the side closest to Mission Space. (In the space that was once part of Innoventions).
It is being reported that black plastic covers are now on the doors as well as on a majority of the windows of Mouse Gear’s original location.
The temporary location of Mouse Gear is pretty much just one large room, meaning there is only one way in and one way out. This is a huge change considering Mouse Gear had several entrances, exits, and rooms to shop around in. Please be patient as Epcot continues its reimagining, refurbishment, and construction.
The good news is that most of what Disney guests could find in Mouse Gear is also available at the temporary location, including dated merchandise, accessories including Minnie Ears, the new Belle of the Bronze collection, Disney apparel, kitchen supplies, coffee mugs, plush toys and more.
Loungefly backpacks and Dooney and Bourke bags have also made their way to the new temporary location, but as you can imagine, with a smaller space comes a smaller selection. Disney guests can also find some jewelry pieces, but again, it is not as large as it was in the original Mouse Gear location.
In addition, Disney guests will be able to purchase the Festival of the Arts merchandise as it will also be sold here once the Festival begins in a couple of weeks.
During the 2019 D23 Expo there were several big announcements for Epcot, including a complete overhaul of the entire park. The changes stated that Epcot will be broken into four neighborhoods as well as include a newly designed experience for Spaceship Earth.
Where Future World is currently undergoing construction, three new neighborhoods will be introduced — World Nature, World Discovery and World Celebration. These three lands will be in addition to the already existing, World Showcase.
