More Playtime with Figment: Disney Extends Hours for the Imagination Pavilion

in Disney, Walt Disney World

Ready to stay up later with Figment? The Disney website is reflecting hours changes for one of our beloved Epcot attractions. The Figment attraction hours have been extended into the evening, and with the Festival of the Arts happening at this same time, we’re glad for the extra dose of Imagination starting January 12, 2020.

Figment Attraction Hours Extended

Starting January 12th and running through February 29th, 2020, all attractions within the Imagination Pavilion will be open from park open to park close. Typically these attractions close at 7:00 PM, with the exception of evening Extra Magic Hours or peak crowds. You can find more detailed hours day by day on the Disney website.

This means more attraction ride time, more playtime inside the ImageWorks – What If Labs to create, play and listen. Epcot often closes at 9:00 pm, with Journey Into Imagination closing routinely at 7 pm. This Inside the Magic Editor was totally stumped when she arrived to ride with her kids many, many years ago (as a Parks newbie) at 7:10 pm without checking the hours! For the time being, that’s no longer an issue.

The Imagination Pavilion is currently home to character Meet and Greets like Wreck-it Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweetz, as well as the recent addition of Joy from Inside Out, as Epcot undergoes construction and updates.  The official Character Spot was recently closed, but you can read where to find all your favorite characters in Epcot here.

Mickey will also be at the Imagination Pavilion with these extended hours, meeting inside the Disney-PIXAR Film Festival area, surrounded by clips of his famous movies and cartoons. Greeting Guests in his classic tux, Mickey is an evergreen favorite, so we’re glad to see him waving hello from Park open to close.

Don’t Forget, Test Track is Closed for Refurbishments

So why the temporary (yet exciting) Attraction Hours extension? It’s most likely because of Epcot’s changes as well as the scheduled Test Track refurbishment from January 13-February 26, 2020. Disney will happily open or extend Guest entertainment when needed to alleviate crowds. We’re hoping that this refurbishment will lead to the opening of Space 200 opening next door later this year.

What’s your favorite thing to do inside the Imagination Pavilion?
