Starting Wednesday, December 18, 2019, Hulu Live TV will cost you an extra $10 per month, becoming the most expensive Live TV streaming service option.
The price increase means Hulu+ Live TV’s will now cost you $54.99 per month. $60.99 per month if you want an ad-free experience. Meanwhile, AT&T TV NOW costs $50 per month, YouTube TV costs $49.99 per month, and Sling TV will cost you $25 per month.
Increase only applies to Hulu+ Live TV
Since its launch in 2017, Hulu’s Live TV platform provides access to over 60 channels including ESPN, Fox Sports, Bravo, and CNN.
Hulu’s regular streaming options are much cheaper and still priced the same. You can gain access to thousands of movies and over 85,000 television episodes for $5.99 per month. The ad-free experience is still $11.99 per month. Hulu’s regular streaming service is also becoming the new home for all popular Disney-owned movies and TV shows not deemed appropriate for Disney+. Examples include movies such as Deadpool and Logan.
Hulu released a press release on November 15, 2019, letting Live TV customers know that they can off-set this price hike by optimizing plans to fit their needs.
Hulu said:
“Price changes are never easy to stomach, and we know that many people don’t watch live television year-round, so we’ve made it easy for Hulu subscribers to switch back and forth between our plans to best suit their needs. If you love college football, choose Hulu + Live TV during the season, then switch to one of Hulu’s less expensive on-demand plans when it’s over. If you enjoy most of your TV on demand but really want to watch live election news, just switch to Hulu + Live TV for a few months.
Whichever plan you choose at any given time, we just want you to have a great TV experience on Hulu.”
The price hike goes into effect tomorrow, December 18, 2019. Current subscribers will see the price change reflected in the subsequent billing cycle following December 18.
