Heading to Walt Disney World during the holidays? You can experience plenty of seasonal events without using a park ticket, and some of our favorite holiday happenings take place right at Disney Springs.

For holiday shopping, you can’t miss World of Disney. This year’s holiday merchandise has hit the shelves and we cannot get enough of it. World of Disney has everything you need to celebrate the holidays whether you’re shopping for a souvenir for yourself or picking up gifts for family and friends at home. The Yuletide Farmhouse collection is filled with classic plaid gifts with everything from throw blankets to mugs and more all featuring the Fab Five. We’re also loving the wintry designs on pieces like tumblers and ear headbands that feature holiday artwork like candy canes, gingerbread, holly, and more.

In addition to holiday shopping, the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail has easily become a fan-favorite way to get into the holiday spirit outside the theme parks. The trail opens this Friday, November 8, 2019, and Disney just released a full list of themes for this year’s trees. Some of the new designs for this year include trees inspired by The Lion King and Aladdin, and with more trees and decorations than ever we can’t wait to head to Disney Springs to check them out. When it opens this weekend, the Christmas Tree Trail will be open daily throughout the holiday season from 11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m.

Along with the Christmas trees, Disney Springs will feature new holiday beverages themed around the film Noelle (coming soon to Disney+!) and a festive DJ Dance party. Disney Springs always has something going on and these holiday overlays and treats around the shops and restaurants are sure to bring even more family fun to Disney’s premier shopping, dining, and entertainment complex.

If getting a photo with Santa is part of your family’s Christmas traditions, you can also find this festive photo opp in Disney Springs. Use the mobile check-in experience and visit some nearby shops while you wait then bring your list (and check it twice) to meet Mr. Claus himself.

For more family fun, pick up Stitch’s Holiday Gift Hunt and stop at 12 locations around Disney Springs to complete this seasonal challenge. Completed scavenger hunts can be turned in to a Cast Member for a most merry surprise the whole family is sure to love.

EARL OF SANDWICH is a fan-favorite holiday spot with their tasty seasonal sandwich options (and their super reasonable price points), and this year they’re stocking up on even more holiday joy. Bring the kids to EARL OF SANDWICH from 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. between November 8 and January 5, 2020 for interactive and holiday activities where everyone can show their creative side.

Want to experience even more seasonal festivities on your no-park-ticket days? We have a couple of ideas: Catch the new fireworks at this year’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks) from outside of the park by watching from one of the nearby resorts, and before the fireworks kick off hop on the monorail for a self-guided holiday decor resort tour. While you’re planning which resorts to see decorated for the season, don’t forget to explore the Epcot Area Resorts, or even the Moderate and Value resorts as they all decorate for the occasion.

And if you’re looking for a place to stay this holiday season, the Disney Springs Hotels just released an incredible holiday deal with room rates starting as low as $85/night for select rooms and dates. These hotels are all in walking distance of Disney Springs, and they come with Disney resort guest benefits like 60-day FastPass+ reservations and Extra Magic Hours. Plus, the Disney Springs Hotels have their own shuttle buses that arrive every 30 minutes to bring guests back and forth between the parks and the resorts. Visit DisneySpringsHotels.com for all the details on this special offer, or contact an authorized Disney travel agent like Academy Travel.

If you’re planning a holiday trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll want to book early to ensure the best deals (and availability!) and our friends at Academy Travel can help.
