1: Location – Location – Location
An outstanding view of Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk can’t be beat. A stay at Disney’s Beach Club Resort Villas not only provides fantastic views but also to the ultimate in Disney World location and convenience. Take a 5-minute short walk to the Epcot World Showcase entrance (between the France and United Kingdom pavilions).
I recently attended Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival and entering through this exclusive back-door entrance saved me time driving, parking, and standing in line. An extra bonus for staying on a Disney Vacation Club property was the Extra Magic Hours at Epcot. The park closed at 9:00 pm for all guests except those on property; we got to stay till 11:00 pm! A slightly longer stroll ends up at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, Swan & Dolphin resorts or a multitude of restaurants, shops and entertainment along the enchanting and bustling boardwalk. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a pleasant 20-minute walk.
Scenic boat transport is available for FREE between the Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios (approximately 12 minutes by boat). Boat rides to other Epcot area entertainment, resorts and restaurants are also very close by. Cool and comfortable Disney buses shuttle guests to and from Animal Kingdom Park, the Magic Kingdom, Disney Springs, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach water parks.
On September 29, 2019, Disney Skyliner aerial gondolas officially opened and now provides an incredible new way to get around Walt Disney World Resorts with a launch pad at Epcot (right next door to this resort)!
Glide across the sky and add an extra dash of pixie dust to your day. This grand, state-of-the-art gondola system will conveniently connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot

Welcome Home! Spacious and luxuriously appointed DVC villas feature a tranquil, beach-themed décor with a New England nautical theme twist, scenic balconies or patios, WIFI, flat-screen TVs and DVD players. Comfy studio units sleep up to 5 adults comfortably and are equipped with one queen bed, one double sofa bed and one single roll-down bed. Studio units have a kitchenette, small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker.
Deluxe one-bedroom villas sleep up to 4 adults and are configured with either one king bed and one queen sofa bed, or one king and one double sofa bed. The two-bedroom villas have two separate bathrooms, a fully-equipped modern kitchen, spacious living and dining areas and in-unit washer and dryer.
3: Stormalong Bay Pool and Dunes Cove
What really makes this DVC property so incredibly unique and popular is the Stormalong Bay pool area! This 3-acre pool complex is sort of a mini waterpark delighting guests of Disney’s Beach Club Villas and the adjacent Yacht & Beach Club Resort. It’s probably the highest-rated feature pool area in the entire Disney World collection. Children and adults alike will be awestruck by the life-sized shipwreck replica with 230-foot waterslide extending from its soaring mast. There’s also a sand-bottomed pool, a cool lazy river, wading pool with a mini waterslide for kids, whirlpool for muscle relaxation and oversized sun tanning deck to catch all the rays.
There’s also a “quiet pool” called Dunes Cove. This pool is a great choice for guests who just want to relax away from the busier pool. It’s set farther back from Crescent Lake, and Stormalong Bay draws so many people, that there often is no one else around in Dunes Cove.
4: Pirate Adventures and Boat Rentals
Ahoy, Me Hearties! Kids ages 4 to 12 can set sail on a Pirate Adventure, following clues and discovering hidden treasure along the way. There’s a choice of two hidden treasure tours with plenty of pirate lore, sailing and fun. Choose from the Islands of the Caribbean Pirate Cruise departing from Caribbean Cay in Barefoot Bay, or the Albatross Treasure Cruise departing from Bayside Marina. These exciting adventures are from 9:30 to 11:30 am daily.
Aaarrrggghhh! From 5 to 8:30 pm let the kids attend Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew. Sail and make stops along Crescent Lake hunting for pirate booty, practicing pirate lingo, singing joyful tunes, learning how to properly to swab the deck and then eating pirate fare like Cannon Meatballs for dinner. Captain Hook will make an appearance to meet the new crew and confirm that everything is ship-shape.
For something less adventurous, enjoy the relaxation of the open sea by renting a powerboat at the on-site Bayside Marina boat dock. Take a pleasant cruise along Disney World’s scenic inlets, lagoons and lakes. There are several motorized boats to choose from including a Boston Whaler for up to 6 guests, a Sun Tracker Pontoon boat for up to 10 guests or a Sea Ray Sea Raycer which seats up to 2 guests.
5: Goofy’s Beach Club Adult Character Breakfast Buffet
For children and adults alike, there’s no better way to kick off a day in the world of Disney than an exciting character breakfast. Minnie’s Breakfast Bash is held daily at Cape May Café where guests will mingle with Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Goofy and the gang. They will be all decked out in their beach attire and ready for silly action. Get plenty of photos and autographs from your favorite Disney characters before heading out for a day at the parks. Menu items include the famous Mickey Mouse waffle with lots of whipped cream, along with fresh fruit, fresh eggs, breakfast meats, oatmeal and more at this whimsical buffet breakfast with all the trimmings.
During the evenings this venue changes to New England Style Clam Bake & All-American Adult Dinner Buffet – Steamed Clams, Mussels, Corn-on-the-Cob, Potatoes, Chicken, Fresh Vegetables and BBQ Ribs, Salad Bar, and Assorted Desserts.
6: Great dining options all around
There’s a terrific selection of restaurants available to guests at the Beach Club and the adjacent Yacht Club, its sister resort. Enjoy prime steaks and signature dining at nautical-themed Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club. Grab a glass of wine, beer or other cocktails along with a tasty appetizer at Martha’s Vineyard bar, Ale & Compass Lounge or Crew’s Cup Lounge (Yacht Club).
Other meal, snack and dining opportunities can be found at The Market at Ale & Compass Marketplace, Beaches & Cream Soda Shop, Captain’s Grille (Yacht Club) and Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill. Of course for the ultimate in dining convenience, just make a phone call. Disney’s Beach Club Villas offers the luxury of 24-hour room service.
Another bonus due to proximity: Guests with Park Hopper tickets can take a short walk next door to Epcot and take advantage of all the amazing dining options available there. Epcot boasts over 23 restaurants from around the world. Fine French cuisine, delicate Japanese dishes, spicy Mexican specialties, and robust Biergarten in Germany are just a few choices.
7: Onsite Children’s Activity Center and Childcare
Sandcastle Club hours are 4:30 p.m. to midnight. Cost is $11.50 per hour, per child; 24-hour advance reservations are (407-939-3463) requested.
