Just last week we got all the feels when Disney+ and Hilary Duff shared on Instagram a post with the entire original cast reunited to reprise their roles for the upcoming series reboot of our beloved teen sitcom, Lizzie McGuire. Read more about it here! But the Instagram excitement didn’t stop there.
Today, we got another teaser. Both Hillary Duff and Disney+ posted on their Instagram accounts with another sneak peek at the show’s first day of production. And we are giddy with excitement!
Thanks to the Disney+ Instagram post photo, we got some details! The caption on the post reads: “Alpaca your bags! #LizzieMcGuire, an original series coming soon to #DisneyPlus, is heading to the Big Apple for the next chapter in Lizzie’s story. Check out this exclusive photo from the first day of production”.
So, here’s what we know so far. Our girl Lizzie is living in NYC. Her style is definitely more sophisticated looking, now that she’s in her 30’s. We also know from the details released during the D23 Expo 2019 that Lizzie is working her dream job as an assistant for a top-notch New York City decorator; which explains her wardrobe update. But what is with the giant Alpaca she’s carrying?
Duff gave us some extra info on that post by letting us in on the Alpaca’s name; it’s Henry! And it sounds like Henry was a cozy accessory during this cold shoot day. She comments: “The alpacas name is Henry. And she really kept a girl warm today 🥶”
Will we get to find out how she got to the Big Apple and what adventure this enormous stuffed animal she’s carrying is about. And did anyone else notice the bubbles all around her? So many more questions we can’t wait to find out the answers to!
It’s been so fun watching Hillary grow up in front of our eyes and tackle other roles like her current TV Land series, Younger, that appeals to the generation that grew up watching her play Lizzie. But I think we can all agree, getting to see her step back into the clumsy shoes of the beloved Lizzie character is something none of us want to miss!
While we wait to learn more about this reboot, we’ll be catching up on all the original episodes which will be available on Disney+ starting November 12!
Will you be tuning in to the Lizzie McGuire reboot on Disney+?
