If you’re planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort this weekend, don’t miss out on your last chance to see the classic Main Street Electrical Parade! A fan-favorite on both coasts, the Main Street Electric Parade will make it’s final run through Disneyland on Monday, September 30, 2019.

Known for its approximately 600,000 LED lights synchronized to the musical notes of the “Baroque Hoedown” and stunning floats, dancers, and character appearances, the parade was among the first of its kind. In terms of nightly lighted parades, the Main Street Electrical Parade was preceded only by the Electrical Water Pageant, which debuted shortly after the Walt Disney World Resort opened in 1971.

The Main Street Electrical Parade launched in Disneyland in 1972 where guests were able to enjoy its 24-year run until the parade came to an end for the first time in 1996. Through the late 90s until 2017 the Main Street Electrical Parade went back and forth with relatively limited engagements at both domestic Disney theme parks, and most recently the parade has been enjoying a quick summer run in Disneyland (from August 2 to September 30, 2019).

In celebration of the current engagement in Disneyland, the park is offering a variety of Main Street Electrical Parade-themed sweets and treats including a caterpillar marshmallow wand, lady bug cake pops and more. You can also find specialty themed ice cream sundaes and even savory options like the firefly hot dog, complete with chili, shredded cheese, fried corn chips, and jalapeños. The themed treats are expected to be available through September 30 (or while supplies last) so if your foodie side is interested in celebrating the parade be sure to get to the park early enough this weekend to try some of these snacks.

The final performances of the Main Street Electrical Parade will run twice nightly through September 30 at 8:40 pm and 10:45 pm. If you plan on visiting the park to take in those sparkling lights and “electro-syntho-magnetic musical sounds” one last time, we recommend arriving early as the last couple of performances will likely see extra crowds lining the streets for the parade’s send off.
