The Main Street Electrical Parade that returned to the Magic Kingdom in 2010 marched for the last time in Walt Disney World this past Sunday. The parade was supposed to be a summer-only offering back in 2010, but six years later, the illuminated procession was still gathering crowds to the curb every night. The parade has gone through many different versions since its start in 1972 and been shipped back and forth multiple times between the Disney Parks. It will now be going back to Disneyland for a final, limited-time engagement until it finally retires for good.

When the day came to say goodbye, fans descended upon Main Street in droves. The commemorative parade t-shirt was flying off the shelves in the Emporium and the atmosphere was filled with nostalgia for the classic parade. The devoted fans had no problem recounting their fond memories and sharing their feelings about the end of the parade.
