Who hasn’t dreamt of working for Walt Disney Animation Studios? Well, in case you didn’t know, they offer an amazing internship program that helps those dreams become a reality!
This year, the Walt Disney Animation Studios internship program blew us away with their creation. Assisted by a talented team of mentors, interns are able to develop stories, design and animate characters, write scores, and everything in between. And the result is this year’s short will give you goosebumps.
You can check out the stunning short, “Maestro”, below.

The new short almost gives off a Haunted Mansion feel at the start, with opening and closing drawers and floating chairs. But then quickly leads into “Fantasia” vibes with the dancing brooms. (I was almost waiting for Sorcerer Mickey to appear!)
The score is beautiful, the animation is stunning, and the story is extremely creative and very unique.
As you could imagine, putting together a short film at an iconic studio like Walt Disney Animation Studios in such a short amount of time is not an easy task. Typically, many of the feature length films we know and love can take at least 4 – 5 years to create. But somehow the mentors and the interns came together and put this entire short film together in the knick of time.
We think it’s pretty clear these interns have very bright futures ahead of them.
What do you think of the new short “Maestro” created by the interns at Walt Disney Animation Studios?
