Adults can go to Disney’s new Halloween party Oogie Boogie Bash (with or without kids)

Disney’s newest Halloween party arguably has more to offer guests of all ages than any other themed event at a Disney Park, and we’re so excited to attend for ourselves. While holiday parties at Disneyland and Walt Disney World are known for their family-friendly atmosphere and activities that kids love, Disney California Adventure’s new party Oogie Boogie Bash has so much for adults to enjoy, too! Here’s why adults should go to Oogie Boogie Bash at Disneyland Resort whether or not they have kids.

The immersive Villains Grove is hauntingly beautiful

We don’t yet have photos of Villains Grove because Disney has yet to release photos of this upcoming experience, but from what we can tell, it’s going to be epic. Described as “a hauntingly beautiful display of light and sound,” Villains Grove is a Halloween overlay of Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, which is typically known to be a kid-friendly (yet fun-for-adults) obstacle course in DCA. Every section of the Grove is themed after a different Disney Villain, and while some have likened it to Disney’s version of a Halloween maze, we know it’s going to be even more immersive than that. It won’t be scary, but it’s sure to be eerie and haunted-feeling, so we’re pretty excited to attend as adults.

Of course, this probably shouldn’t be the determining factor of whether or not you spend over $100 on a ticket to a Halloween party. But it might persuade you. Last year (and every year before that) at Mickey’s Halloween Party, there was, naturally, no alcohol served because Disneyland is a mostly dry park (with the exception of Oga’s Cantina at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge). But with the Halloween festivities being held at Disney California Adventure this year, guests over 21 at Oogie Boogie Bash can enjoy an array of alcoholic beverages all throughout the park.

We’re not exactly sure which food and beverage locations will be open during the party yet, but we’ll report back when we know more information.

Shelley Marie, Disney’s anti-princess, is relatable no matter what age you are

Shelley Marie is possibly our favorite new Disney character, and we were so thankful to meet her this year! She loves all things Disney Villains, and she shows guests of all ages that it’s better to embrace who you are and be who you want to be than try to be something you’re not. As the creators of Shelley Marie say, she teaches every Oogie Boogie Bash attendee that it’s encouraged to be your unapologetically weird and unique self. What could be a better message not only for kids but also for adults?
