Gingerbread Displays

Every holiday season, Disney chefs create dazzling holiday gingerbread displays for Disney Parks and Resorts and Disney Cruise Line. Today, November 21, happens to be National Gingerbread Cookie Day and what better way to celebrate than with some incredible gingerbread creations from Disney?

You can experience this holiday magic at Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, select Disney resort hotels, and on Disney Cruise Line. Below, take a look at this year’s gingerbread delights, and if you’re able to visit one of the parks or resorts today, be sure to check these out in person.

Walt Disney World Resort

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

A staple of the holiday season at Walt Disney World, the gingerbread display at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Located in the lobby, this life-sized gingerbread house features hidden Mickeys, gingerbread shingles, and more. The 14-foot tall house is also home to a sweets shop, where you can purchase the following goodies:

The Grand Floridian Gingerbread House is on display throughout the holiday season, and you can stop by for a Gingerbread House Decorating Demo in front of the display daily from December 1 – 25, 2018.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Located on the fourth-floor concourse of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, this gingerbread castle is set on an “it’s a small world” backdrop. A gingerbread Cinderella, Prince Charming, and Fairy Godmother welcome guests to the display, which is crafted from thousands of gingerbread blocks, rolled fondant, and modeling chocolate. The 18-foot tall gingerbread castle also features a display box showcasing Cinderella’s glass slipper. Visit the sweets cart nearby to indulge in the following treats:

Disney’s Beach Club Resort

Located in the lobby of Disney’s Beach Club Resort, this life-sized spinning carousel is a can’t miss sight for the season. The display features Donald and Daisy Duck-themed carousel horses and it’s decorated with hand-crafted chocolate, sugar, and gingerbread snowflakes. In addition, there are 19 hidden Mickeys to spot, commemorating the 19th anniversary of this holiday tradition at Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Don’t miss out on these treats for sale, too:

The American Adventure at Epcot

Featuring the United States Capitol Building, the Lincoln Memorial, and a 7-foot gingerbread Washington Monument topped with golden Mickey ears, this gingerbread display at Epcot’s The American Adventure pavilion will have you in a patriotic holiday mood. The display, which was made with over 50 pounds of gingerbread and 20 pounds of icing, also features 6 hidden Mickeys. You can find a Limited Edition Snow Globe Pin featuring Goofy at Heritage Manor Gifts (available while supplies last).

A few of the displays at Walt Disney World Resort don’t start until November 25, 2018, but once they appear, you can view them through the end of December.

Disney Springs

Starting November 25, visit Amorette’s Patisserie to see the storefront display, which depicts a miniature version of the store surrounded by little gingerbread trees. While you’re visiting, you can also pick up some sweet holiday treats, including:

The BoardWalk Bakery is the centerpiece of the holiday display and it also features an adorable gingerbread Chef Mickey. In addition, you can purchase the following treats near the display:

Once again, the beloved Haunted Mansion attraction gets a Haunted Mansion Holiday makeover at Disneyland. This year’s gingerbread display in the Grand Hall features a 5-foot spider with glowing red eyes, gingerbread zombies, sparkling lights, and more. You can visit Haunted Mansion Holiday and see this spooky gingerbread display through the holiday season.

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

This replica of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is over seven feet tall and features a few hidden Mickeys. The holiday display, made from over 600 pounds of gingerbread, is on display in the hotel lobby through the season. Also, pick up these tempting treats at the Holiday Cart near the display:

Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa

At Aulani Resort in Hawai’i, enjoy “A Kakamora Holiday” this season. The chocolate and gingerbread display features a LED-lit chocolate tree, a Moana-inspired gingerbread hut, chocolate sleigh and merrymaking Kakamoras celebrating with a tropical twist. On display through the end of December, A Kakamora Holiday will be six feet long and use hundreds of pounds of gingerbread, chocolate, and icing. Disney Cruise Line

Each year, Disney Cruise Line pastry teams compete to create unique displays in the atrium of every ship. This year’s four displays were made with over 600 pounds of gingerbread dough, over 5,000 gingerbread bricks, and over 200 pounds of sugar. You can spot these festive displays throughout the season aboard Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Magic, and Disney Wonder ships.
