Van Eaton Galleries in Sherman Oaks, California has been holding bi-annual Disneyland auctions for the past few years, and each one seems jam-packed with even more Disney theme park memorabilia, animatronics, rare art, actual ride vehicles, and collectibles than the last. Here at inside the magic we’ve covered two of their previous auctions: “Collecting Disneyland” in 2015 and last year’s “Souvenirs of Disneyland” in the fall.
This week the gallery opened its spring 2017 exhibit “Walt Disney’s Disneyland,” containing a similarly jaw-dropping display of keepsakes and relics from the parks, including one highly-talked-about concept art map (with Art by Herb Ryman) that was used by Roy Disney to sell the original concept of Disneyland to investors in 1953.
