Marvel teases “WEIRD” new comic for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts to be revealed at the 2013 D23 Expo

WEIRD" splashed across a black background in bold, green, dripping letters reminiscent of Marvel signage from D23 Expo displays, conjuring the theatrical flair and excitement found in Disney Parks entertainment zones.

Marvel has revealed a cryptic message teasing something for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts at the 2013 D23 Expo.

On their web site and on Twitter, they have shared the graphic below along with instructions to find out more during the upcoming official Disney fan event:

This weekend, only at the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts pavilion during the Disney D23 2013 Expo, ask for something WEIRD and get your first look at an all-new project coming from Marvel & Disney!

The “Ask for Something Weird” promo for Disney's D23 Expo 2013 uses eerie green, slime-drip text and iconic logos to hype fans up for the surprises in store—spotlighting imaginative crossovers between Marvel and Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, all promising the kind of magical moments theme park lovers know only Disney can deliver.

It’s filed on Marvel.com under the “Comics” section, so the project appears to be a new comic book. And with that creepy font style, the one “weird” Disney attraction that immediately comes to mind is “Museum of the Weird,” an early concept for The Haunted Mansion, developed by Imagineer Rolly Crump.

In 2010, Disney was working on a movie based on “Museum of the Weird” but ultimately scrapped the project.
