The magical salon that first debuted at Walt Disney World has made its way to the high seas, offering makeovers to Disney Cruise Line passengers while undergoing a makeover itself. On the new Disney Fantasy cruise ship, guests have a chance to be transformed into beautiful princesses and not-so-beautiful pirates in the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique“>Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, which also becomes The Pirates League on select nights.
On most days and nights aboard Disney Fantasy’s 7-day cruises, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is available for young guests to be made over into their favorite pixie-dusted characters. But each voyage also features a Pirates in the Caribbean night during which the salon’s fairy godmother takes the night off, letting a few scoundrels and really bad eggs take control of passengers’ fates.
See both sides of the transformation in the video below.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on the Disney Fantasy
Located on Deck 5 midship, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeovers on the Disney Fantasy is reserved for children ages of 3 and 12. Like the similar salons found at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique aboard the Fantasy is decked out in shades of shimmering gold, nothing short of a dressing room fit for a princess.
Guests are welcomed in by friendly Cast Members, all ready to assist in little girls’ transformations.
Prices for the experience range from $54.95 for a simple hairstyle and makeup package up to a royal $595 for three at-sea makeovers, photos, and plenty of accessories, with several price points in-between. A variety of make-up styles, dresses, and other take-home items is available with each package.
Exclusive to the Disney Cruise Line are Princess Minnie Mouse, First Mate Minnie Mouse, Captain Mickey Mouse packages. A new “Under the Sea” package on the Fantasy transforms little cruisers into mermaids with a two-piece swimsuit, “mermaid tail” wrap, tiara and nail polish that changes color in sunlight. The “Disney Fantasy” package also includes a frilly tutu with Disney Fantasy and Disney Cruise Line logos printed into the gold ribbon around the hem.
It’s the princess-perfect experience primarily for young girls, though the captain’s package is available for boys too. But it’s likely that most boys will be drawn to the salon only on one special night…
The Pirates League on the Disney Fantasy
If ye be seeking adventure for the whole family, The Pirates League be the place to, uh, be. Unlike the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeovers, pirate transformations are available for guests ages 3 and up, including adults.
On one night per Disney Fantasy cruise, the pink, purple, and gold hues of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique are bathed in red light, with cushy chairs covered in burlap sacks featuring a familiar skull-and-crossbones.
The salon’s fairy godmother assistants become winsome wenches, welcoming all to The Pirates League with a smirk and a sneer.
Though Captain Jack Sparrow seems to dominate the minds of anyone who thinks of “Pirates of the Caribbean” these days, Disney Cruise Line hasn’t forgotten the franchise’s roots in the Disney theme park attraction of the same name, featuring a familiar face or two on artwork outside The Pirates League.
As The Pirates League, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique no longer feels like a dainty salon but instead a secret lair for transforming the average sailor into a sword-swinging swashbuckler. Makeover packages available for all ages include applications of beards and bandanas, swords and scars, earrings and eye patches ($34.95).
For children, a full pirate makeover ($99.95) is available with the First Mate package for boys including bandana, scars, fake teeth, eye patch sword and more. For girls, an outfit available only on the Disney ship is the Empress which includes a Disney Cruise Line exclusive dress, shimmering makeup, face gem, nail polish, earring, eye patch sword and more.
Each marauding makeover ends with guests taking the secret pirate oath, after which staffs welcomes a new pirate to the crew. Girls and boys alike enjoy the mischievous makeover in preparation for the special evening’s Pirates in the Caribbean parties up on deck.
Whether it’s for a soon-to-be princess or a pirate, guests can book makeovers online at DisneyCruise.com in advance of embarkation. Reservations can also be made on board the ship beginning on embarkation day and walk-up appointments may be available.
