One of the most exciting and exhaustive exhibits at the 2011 D23 Expo is called Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives, putting on display decades of movie and television history through props, costumes, and other rare recognizable items. From “Pirates of the Caribbean” to “The Rocketeer” and “TRON” to “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?””, Disney fans will marvel at the priceless pieces pulled from the Archives for the convention.

Photography is not permitted inside the Walt Disney Archives exhibit, but during a special media preview before the D23 Expo began, we had permission to capture it all for your enjoyment.

Highlights inside the exhibit include Jack Sparrow’s outfit from “Pirates of the Caribbean“, the original opening storybook from “Sleeping Beauty,” Walt Disney’s script for opening day of Disneyland, and many more instantly recognizable pieces. Attached exhibits also include Mickey Mouse memorabilia from over the decades, even featuring the mailboxes from Mickey’s Toontown Fair at the Magic Kingdom.

Flip through the photo gallery below to see what’s on display and, if you can, head out to the Anaheim Convention Center this weekend to marvel at it all in person. It’s a sight that shouldn’t be missed.
