As of September 20, there are officially 55 days until Universal Orlando Holidays begins on November 14, 2026.
That means the countdown is on.
In less than two months, Universal Orlando will move away from its fall and Halloween atmosphere and begin transforming much of the resort for Christmas. This year, however, the holiday changeover will be bigger than what longtime guests have experienced in the past.
For the first time, Universal Orlando’s holiday celebration will stretch across all three theme parks, along with Universal CityWalk and the resort’s 11 hotels. Universal Orlando Holidays will officially run from November 14, 2026, through January 3, 2027.
And Epic Universe is about to become a much bigger part of the celebration.
Universal Orlando’s 55-Day Countdown Has Begun
Universal Orlando has spent much of the fall focused on Halloween Horror Nights, which continues at Universal Studios Florida through November 1.
But the end of Halloween Horror Nights leaves Universal with less than two weeks before its Christmas celebration officially begins.
The difference between the two seasons is dramatic.
Halloween Horror Nights turns Universal Studios Florida into a horror destination filled with haunted houses, scare zones, fog, monsters, and late-night crowds. Just days later, Universal will be preparing for Christmas trees, lights, holiday entertainment, festive character appearances, and seasonal decorations.
Guests visiting around this transition period could watch parts of Universal Orlando change remarkably quickly.
By November 14, Christmas will have arrived throughout the resort.
And this year, Universal has even more ground to cover.
Epic Universe Is Getting a Bigger Christmas Transformation
Epic Universe opened in May 2025, making the 2026 holiday season only the park’s second Christmas since opening.
Universal is already expanding what guests will see.
For the first time, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk will receive holiday décor. Meanwhile, Celestial Park will once again become a cosmic winter wonderland, complete with holiday displays around the Cosmos Fountain.
That’s a significant development for Epic Universe.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD already has one of the most distinctive visual styles anywhere at Universal Orlando. Adding Christmas decorations gives Universal an opportunity to make the land look noticeably different for guests returning during the holidays.
The same applies to Isle of Berk.
Universal hasn’t revealed every decoration or seasonal detail guests will find inside these lands, so there could still be surprises ahead as November approaches.
What we do know is that Epic Universe won’t simply sit on the sidelines while Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure receive their traditional Christmas transformations.
It is becoming a bigger part of the resort-wide holiday experience.
Christmas Is Coming to All Three Wizarding World Locations
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will also play a major role in Universal Orlando Holidays.
Christmas festivities are planned for Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure, Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida, and the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe. Each area will feature festive lights and decorations, while select locations will offer holiday entertainment.
Hogsmeade will once again feature The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle.
The nighttime projection show transforms Hogwarts castle with imagery inspired by Christmas moments from the Harry Potter films.
With the Ministry of Magic now part of Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World lineup, guests can experience Christmas-themed environments across three separate parks.
That also shows how much Universal Orlando has changed.
Not long ago, a holiday trip largely meant dividing time between Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure. Epic Universe has fundamentally expanded the resort, and Universal’s seasonal events are beginning to reflect that new reality.
Grinchmas Is Returning to Islands of Adventure
Of course, some Universal Orlando Christmas traditions aren’t changing.
Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventure will once again become the center of Grinchmas.
Guests can see the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular, a live stage production inspired by How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), while The Grinch will also be available for character encounters.
Guests can additionally explore the Who-Ville Tree Lot.
The Grinch has become one of Universal Orlando’s most recognizable holiday characters, particularly as his meet-and-greet appearances have exploded in popularity online.
That makes Seuss Landing one of the areas likely to feel particularly different once the November transformation is complete.
Universal Studios Florida Is Getting Its Holiday Parade Back
Universal Studios Florida will have another major Christmas tradition returning this year.
Universal’s Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s will once again move through the park nightly.
The parade features balloons and floats with characters from Illumination’s Despicable Me (2010), DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek (2001), and Madagascar (2005), along with traditional holiday elements.
The finale includes Santa Claus leading a Christmas tree lighting.
It’s another example of how dramatically Universal Studios Florida changes in a short period.
During Halloween Horror Nights, guests walk through a park filled with haunted houses and scare actors. Less than two weeks after HHN ends, the park will be hosting a Christmas parade with Santa.
Universal doesn’t get much downtime between its two biggest seasonal transformations.
The Christmas Celebration Goes Beyond the Theme Parks
The overhaul isn’t limited to Universal’s theme parks, either.
Universal CityWalk will join the celebration when the Red Coconut Club transforms into the Green and Red Coconut Club, offering seasonal décor, entertainment, and holiday cocktails.
Universal’s 11 hotels will also receive decorations designed around their individual themes.
Hotel festivities will include special menus and seasonal activities, including Christmas tree lightings, menorah lighting ceremonies, and strolling carolers.
Taken together, that creates a much larger transformation than simply putting Christmas trees inside the parks.
Universal Orlando is preparing to change the atmosphere across essentially the entire destination.
A Separately Ticketed Holiday Experience Is Returning
Guests looking for additional holiday experiences will also have the option of purchasing the Universal Holiday Tour.
The roughly two-and-a-half-hour experience requires park-to-park access to Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.
The tour includes encounters with The Grinch and Max, reserved seating for the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular, a Santa Claus meet-and-greet, and optional reserved viewing for Universal’s Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s.
Tours are scheduled on select dates between November 14, 2026, and January 2, 2027. Prices begin at $69.99 per person plus tax, while Annual and Seasonal Passholders receive a $10 discount per ticket.
Most of the standard holiday entertainment, however, is included with regular theme park admission.
Universal Orlando Is About to Look Completely Different
Fifty-five days may sound like plenty of time, but Universal Orlando has a lot to accomplish between now and November 14.
Halloween Horror Nights still has weeks remaining. Once that event concludes on November 1, Universal will have only a short window before Christmas officially takes over.
And 2026 isn’t simply another repeat of the same holiday celebration.
Epic Universe has expanded the footprint of Universal Orlando Holidays, and two of its most recognizable lands are getting holiday decorations for the first time.
That means returning guests will have something genuinely new to see alongside familiar favorites such as Grinchmas, Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and Universal’s Holiday Parade Featuring Macy’s.
The resort is currently covered in the sights of Halloween.
In 55 days, the atmosphere changes completely.
Universal Orlando Holidays begins November 14, 2026, and runs through January 3, 2027.
