Universal has officially confirmed that its newest theme park will receive an even bigger dose of holiday magic during the 2026 holiday season, with festive decorations coming to lands that largely sat out the celebrations during the park’s first Christmas. The announcement signals that Universal is continuing to build on Epic Universe’s seasonal offerings as the park settles into its second year of operation.
For fans who visited Epic Universe during the 2025 holidays, these additions will likely feel like the missing piece that finally brings the park’s immersive lands into the seasonal spirit.
SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Finally Joins the Holiday Celebration
One of the biggest surprises from Epic Universe’s first holiday season was what wasn’t there.
While SUPER NINTENDO WORLD at Universal Studios Hollywood has celebrated Christmas with themed decorations for several years, its Orlando counterpart opened without any seasonal overlays during the 2025 holiday season. That left many guests wondering if the colorful land would eventually receive the same festive treatment.
Now, Universal has answered that question.
The company confirmed that SUPER NINTENDO WORLD at Epic Universe will debut its own holiday decorations during the 2026 season, giving guests another reason to revisit one of the park’s most popular lands.
Universal hasn’t revealed exactly what those decorations will include, but if Hollywood’s version serves as any indication, visitors could expect Christmas trees, themed garland, colorful lighting, and plenty of festive touches that blend naturally with the Mushroom Kingdom’s playful atmosphere.
The addition should make the land even more photogenic during the busiest travel season of the year.
Isle of Berk Is Getting More Seasonal Charm
Another Epic Universe land is also receiving a holiday upgrade.
How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk celebrated its first Christmas with only a handful of festive elements. Guests found several Snoggletog trees throughout the village, and one seasonal menu item—the Snoggletog Harvest Mac and Cheese Cone—but the celebration remained fairly limited compared to Universal’s other holiday offerings.
That appears to be changing this year.
Universal says Isle of Berk will feature additional decorations for the 2026 holiday season, expanding on last year’s celebration. While specific details remain under wraps, fans of the franchise can likely expect the Viking village to embrace even more of the Snoggletog holiday tradition featured in the 2011 holiday special Dragons: Gift of the Night Fury (2011).
The extra décor should help make Berk feel even more alive during the holidays, especially as guests explore the land’s attractions, dining locations, and entertainment offerings.
The Wizarding World Continues Its Holiday Tradition
Holiday decorations aren’t just expanding at Epic Universe’s newest lands.
Universal also confirmed that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will once again receive its seasonal transformation across all three Universal Orlando theme parks. That includes the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe, which celebrated its first Christmas last year after opening earlier in 2025.
The Wizarding World has long been considered one of Universal’s signature holiday experiences. From festive storefronts to seasonal entertainment and nighttime projections, the lands take on a completely different atmosphere during the Christmas season.
Returning those decorations ensures that Harry Potter fans will once again have one of the resort’s most immersive holiday experiences.
One Question Still Remains
Although Universal confirmed several new additions, one area of Epic Universe remains something of a mystery.
Celestial Park featured holiday decorations during the 2025 season, adding festive touches throughout the park’s central hub. However, Universal’s latest announcement stopped short of confirming whether those decorations will return for 2026.
That doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t be back.
Instead, Universal may simply have chosen to focus this announcement on what’s new rather than detailing every returning holiday offering. More information will likely be released as the holiday season approaches.
Returning Holiday Favorites Are Back
Along with the new decorations, Universal confirmed several fan-favorite holiday experiences will once again return across the resort.
Grinchmas will be back, bringing the beloved Whos and the Grinch to Universal Islands of Adventure once again, while Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s will return to Universal Studios Florida. Both have become annual traditions for many families visiting the resort during November and December.
Guests looking for an upgraded experience can also purchase the Universal Holiday Tour, available on select dates between November 14 and January 2.
The guided experience lasts approximately two and a half hours and includes opportunities to meet the Grinch, Max, and Santa Claus. Participants also receive reserved seating for the Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular and Universal’s Holiday Parade, making it one of the easiest ways to experience several of the resort’s biggest seasonal offerings in a single day.
Universal also teased the return of holiday-themed food, limited-time merchandise, character meet-and-greets, and the popular Holiday Tribute Store, though additional details about those experiences are expected closer to the start of the season.
Holiday Season Begins This November
Universal Orlando’s 2026 holiday celebration officially runs from November 14, 2026, through January 3, 2027, giving guests nearly two months to experience the festivities.
With Epic Universe receiving more holiday decorations, returning entertainment across the resort, and seasonal food and merchandise once again on the way, this year’s celebration appears to be a significant step forward from the park’s first Christmas.
For many guests, the biggest story is the arrival of holiday décor inside Super Nintendo World. It was one of the most noticeable omissions during Epic Universe’s inaugural holiday season, and its addition should help make the land feel more complete as Universal continues refining its newest park.
