Construction at Disneyland Park Entrance
On Tuesday, WDWNT reported that a merchandise kiosk at the entrance to Disneyland Park was surrounded by construction walls and scaffolding covered in scrim fabric. The outlet shared a photo of the scene on social media:
This merchandise kiosk is located inside the Main Street, U.S.A., area at Disneyland Park, immediately after guests walk through the left-side entrance under the Disneyland Railroad station. Aquamarine plywood barriers surround the majority of the kiosk, but the scaffolding, covered in dark green scrim fabric, is visible above the construction walls.
Disneyland Resort has placed a pair of trash and recycling bins in front of the construction walls, following Walt Disney’s tradition of keeping waste receptacles no more than 30 feet apart.
Frames on the side of the construction walls that sometimes display messaging for theme park guests are empty. An aquamarine wooden door along the barriers provides access for Disney cast members.
Disneyland Resort has not commented publicly on the construction project or indicated when it will be complete. Disney has not opened a temporary merchandise location nearby to compensate for the shuttered kiosk. For now, Southern California Disney Park guests are encouraged to visit the Emporium and other shops along Main Street, U.S.A.
This news comes after Disneyland Resort filed construction permits to demolish four ticket booths in the esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. However, it’s unclear whether the projects are related.
