Storyliving by Disney first shared major details about Asteria, a Storyliving by Disney community in North Carolina, in April. At that time, Disney shared information about the Second Star Club, the “social heart” of the living community inspired by Peter Pan (1953).
The building will be the heartbeat of gathering, creativity, and wellness in the community, offering residents things like morning yoga under the Carolina sky, learning something new from a Disney expert, making new friends during a tennis match, or cheering on their home teams at a signature restaurant: Marquet Hall.
This is the second Storyliving by Disney community; model homes are now on display for families hoping to move into the first community, Cotino, in Rancho Mirage, California.
New Information on August 5
On August 5, Disney shared more information about Asteria, which is named after the native North Carolina aster flower and the Greek goddess of the same name. Most of the updates on Wednesday focused on the community’s entryway, designed to reflect the region’s natural beauty and character.
The entrance will blend in with the surrounding topography, built using an intentional dry-stacking method with materials sourced from the site, including metavolcanic rock, quartz, and rhyolite. The main feature is a mesmerizing moon gate that welcomes guests and residents to the community.

Home sales for Storyliving by Disney are expected to begin in the fall of 2027, with the first residents moving in sometime in 2028. Approximately 4,000 units are planned for the lifestyle community in Pittsboro, North Carolina.
