Credit: Anna Fox, FlickrOn Wednesday, Southern California theme park guests walked into Disneyland Resort to find a reimagined version of Disney California Adventure Park. Here’s what to know before your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.
A New Look For Disney California Adventure Park
On August 5, WDWNT reported that Disneyland Resort had installed Oogie Boogie Bash and other Halloween decorations at Disney California Adventure Park overnight. The festive update comes a few weeks before the first after-hours event at the second Southern California Disney park on August 18.
The most obvious addition is the iconic Oogie Boogie sign above the entrance to Disney California Adventure Park. It features the notorious villain from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993) in front of a full moon, crawling tree branches, and jack-o-lanterns. The back side of the sign, which guests see as they exit the park, features Oogie Boogie’s face silhouetted against a full moon.
Disneyland Resort has also installed Halloween decorations inside Disney California Adventure Park. Most notably, stationary black bats now appear to be flying out of the tower at the top of Carthay Circle Restaurant.

Oogie Boogie Bash will take over Disney California Adventure Park on select nights from August 18 to October 31, 2026. Several special event dates are already sold out, including all but one Sunday (August 30) and Halloween night. Most weekday events throughout August, September, and October remain available, including opening night.
Ticketholders can enjoy limited-capacity access to Disney California Adventure Park, the Disney Villains Grove, trick-or-treat trails, Halloween-themed attraction overlays, rare and costumed character meet-and-greets, and exclusive entertainment.
The Frightfully Fun Parade will not perform at Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 due to construction at Disney California Adventure Park. Instead, Disneyland Resort has announced an all-new Haunted Mansion-themed street party.
