Ever since Daniel Craig famously bowed out of the James Bond franchise in No Time to Die (2021), the entertainment world has been completely fixated on who the next 007 will be.

Over the past year alone, the internet has spun numerous casting rumors, debating which well-known male actor will inherit the iconic tuxedo and the PPK in Amazon MGM Studios’ film reboot, which is being directed by Denis Villeneuve (the Dune franchise).

But we aren’t just getting one new 007 to steer the post-Craig era. Thanks to an unprecedented multimedia blitz spanning games, audio dramas, and the cinematic reset, we’re getting three entirely different James Bond actors between 2026 and 2027.

1. Patrick Gibson in 007 First Light

The first actor to officially claim the mantle did so not on a movie screen, but on our consoles earlier this year. On May 27, IO Interactive—the brilliant minds behind the critically acclaimed Hitman series—dropped the highly anticipated video game 007 First Light (2026).

Stepping into the digital combat boots of a young, reckless MI6 recruit is Irish actor Patrick Gibson (Dexter: Original Sin, The OA). Gibson provides both the voice and the motion performance capture for a Craig-level origin story that functions as its own distinct continuity.

This isn’t a suave, flawless veteran, though; Gibson’s Bond is an adult trainee still actively earning his license to kill, offering a grounded, visceral take on the character.

2. Isaac Rouse in Young Bond: SilverFin

Just a few weeks ago, a second official casting bombshell dropped. Big Finish Productions, in tandem with Ian Fleming Publications, announced a major audio drama adaptation of Charlie Higson’s celebrated Young Bond novel, SilverFin, slated for release in October 2026.

After a grueling audition process that saw over 500 hopefuls compete for the role, Isaac Rouse (The Crown) was officially cast as the teenage James Bond during his initial term at Eton College. Running across a massive 16-episode arc, Rouse’s performance will show us the character’s formative years before the 007 designation ever existed.

3. 007 in Amazon MGM Studios’ Untitled Reboot

Finally, there is the crown jewel of the franchise. While Gibson owns the gaming space and Rouse is set to dominate the audio landscape, Amazon MGM Studios and Eon Productions are quietly preparing for their massive theatrical rollout.

While there’s no release date for the untitled live-action cinematic reboot, an official casting announcement is expected to drop within the next twelve months. This yet-to-be-cast actor will face the monumental task of anchoring the mainstream film continuity for the next decade.

The traditional era of a single actor carrying the weight of the 007 brand on his shoulders is officially over. By spreading the icon across different media, different eras, and entirely different continuities, the James Bond franchise is the most dominant it’s been since its inception.
