Disney Springs has spent the last few years evolving far beyond a place where guests simply grab dinner after a long park day. What was once viewed as a shopping and dining district has gradually turned into a full-day destination of its own. Between major restaurants, live entertainment, exclusive merchandise, and nightlife offerings, Disney Springs now pulls massive crowds even from guests who never step foot inside a Disney park.

This summer, though, Disney Springs is preparing for something completely different.
A brand-new experience called Level99 is officially opening at Walt Disney World, and it could become one of the biggest crowd drivers Disney Springs has seen in years. Unlike traditional arcades or escape rooms, Level99 combines physical challenges, puzzle-solving, social gaming, food, drinks, and immersive environments into one massive attraction designed primarily for teens and adults.
And honestly, it feels like exactly the kind of thing Disney Springs has been missing.
Disney Springs Keeps Expanding Beyond Shopping
Over the past decade, Disney Springs has transformed into something far larger than Downtown Disney ever was. Disney has aggressively pushed the area toward becoming a standalone entertainment hub capable of keeping guests occupied for an entire evening—or even an entire day.
You can already see that shift with destinations like Cirque du Soleil’s Drawn to Life, live music throughout the district, high-end dining experiences, bowling at Splitsville, and massive retail locations like World of Disney.

But despite all of that growth, Disney Springs still lacked one major thing: a truly large-scale interactive attraction for older guests.
That’s where Level99 enters the picture.
The new venue will reportedly feature more than 60 life-sized mini-games and challenge rooms where players work through both physical and mental challenges inside futuristic environments.
This is not designed as a quick stop where guests spend 15 minutes before heading elsewhere. The entire concept is built around extended play sessions, repeatability, group competition, and social interaction.
That matters because experiences like that naturally keep people at Disney Springs longer.
This Could Completely Change Crowd Patterns
One of the biggest reasons this opening feels significant is because of where Level99 is located.
The venue is taking over the former NBA Experience building on the West Side of Disney Springs. That space has largely sat as a reminder of one of Disney’s most unsuccessful entertainment experiments in recent memory. NBA Experience opened in 2019 but struggled badly almost immediately before ultimately closing in 2020.
Now Disney is essentially getting a second chance with that massive building.
But unlike NBA Experience, which appealed to a much narrower audience, Level99 feels much broader. It blends gaming, nightlife, teamwork, food, drinks, and immersive entertainment together in a way that feels more aligned with current trends.

And because of that, the impact on Disney Springs crowds could be huge.
Think about it for a second. Guests staying at Walt Disney World hotels constantly look for nighttime activities after leaving the parks. Locals also flood Disney Springs on weekends looking for something different to do. Add in convention travelers, Universal Orlando tourists, and younger adult groups, and suddenly you have a venue that could stay packed late into the night.
This isn’t just another store opening.
It’s a full entertainment anchor.
The Venue Looks Massive
One thing that immediately stands out from the newly released concept art is how ambitious the space appears to be.
The central two-story bar appears surrounded by glowing neon lighting and futuristic design elements that honestly look closer to something you’d expect in Las Vegas than traditional Disney Springs.
And Disney Springs desperately benefits from additions that feel visually unique.

Guests today want places that feel immersive enough to photograph, film for TikTok, or simply explore for an hour or two. Level99 appears designed exactly for that audience.
According to details released about the venue, the Disney Springs location will become the company’s largest Level99 yet. It will reportedly include more than 40 original art installations created specifically for the space.
That alone suggests Disney and Level99 understand this needs to feel like more than just an arcade.
It has to feel like an experience.
Disney Springs Needs More Nightlife Energy
One of the more interesting things about this addition is what it says about the future direction of Disney Springs overall.
Disney has increasingly leaned into nighttime entertainment and adult-focused experiences across the district. Restaurants have expanded cocktail menus. Live music offerings continue growing. Lounges and bars stay busy late into the evening.
Level99 fits perfectly into that strategy.
The venue will include handcrafted cocktails, rotating beers on tap, and a food menu featuring items like Detroit-style pizza, wagyu burgers, and snacks designed for social groups.
That’s important because this creates a hybrid experience.
Guests are not simply showing up to play games for 30 minutes and leave. Many groups will likely spend several hours there between food, drinks, and challenges.
And once people stay longer, Disney Springs crowds naturally increase across the entire district.
Parking garages become busier. Walkways fill up. Restaurants nearby gain overflow traffic. Merchandise locations benefit from heavier nighttime foot traffic.
That ripple effect is exactly why this opening matters.
Disney Springs Is Becoming a Destination Again
There was a stretch after the pandemic where Disney Springs sometimes felt caught between identities. Some guests treated it as a quick shopping stop, while others only visited if they had dining reservations.
But lately, Disney has clearly pushed to make the area feel exciting again.
New restaurants continue arriving. Construction projects keep moving forward. Entertainment offerings are expanding again. Now Level99 gives Disney Springs something entirely new that neither Universal CityWalk nor most Orlando entertainment districts currently offer in this exact format.

That could become a major draw.
Especially during summer.
When Florida temperatures become brutal in the middle of the day, guests constantly search for indoor experiences that still feel exciting. A massive air-conditioned interactive venue with food, drinks, games, and social competition checks almost every box.
It’s easy to imagine families leaving the parks early because of heat or storms and heading directly to Disney Springs for the evening.
This Feels Much Bigger Than a Typical Opening
Disney Springs gets new stores and restaurants fairly regularly, but Level99 feels different because it has the potential to reshape how people use the district entirely.
Instead of Disney Springs simply being the thing guests do after dinner, Level99 could turn it into the main event for an entire night.

The company is already hiring roughly 150 employees ahead of opening, including entertainment and food service roles. Construction around the building has also noticeably ramped up recently as Disney prepares for the summer debut.
And once an official opening date finally arrives, don’t be surprised if crowds surge almost immediately.
Disney fans are always looking for what’s new. But this time, it isn’t just another snack stand or merchandise location grabbing attention.
It’s an entirely new kind of experience for Walt Disney World.
