One Disney park is making a major change to its fireworks for the summer.
Disney days have ended with a fireworks display for decades, with castle parks across the globe hosting various nighttime spectaculars.

At Walt Disney’s OG Disneyland Park – which kickstarted the fireworks tradition with Fantasy in the Sky – guests can currently enjoy Wondrous Journeys (sometimes performed sans fireworks). Over on the East Coast, Magic Kingdom hosts Happily Ever After, a fireworks display with such a loyal following that diehard fans all but emotionally manipulated The Walt Disney Company into restoring the show in 2023 after its official “end” in 2021.
Further afield, Disneyland Paris hosts Disney Tales of Magic (which recently eliminated its drones), Tokyo Disney Resort has the relatively minimalistic Sky Full of Colors, Shanghai Disneyland has Illuminate! A Nighttime Celebration, and Hong Kong Disneyland is home to Momentous: Party in the Night Sky.

However, one Disney castle park is set to switch up its nighttime entertainment in the next few months.
Disney Park Reveals Pixar Update For Nighttime Fireworks
As part of a newly announced celebration known as Pixar Summer Fest!, Hong Kong Disneyland will debut Pixar Pals Spectacular.
Judging by the concept art, this will pay homage to characters from iconic Pixar Animation Studios films, including The Incredibles, Inside Out, Turning Red, Monsters, Inc, and, of course, Toy Story.
The new show will run before nightly performances of Momentous: Party in the Night Sky, kicking off with the rest of Pixar Summer Fest! on June 12 and running until August 31.

Other additions for Pixar Summer Fest! include the Pixar Water Play Street Party!, encounters with “rare and exclusive Pixar friends,” and an abundance of Pixar-themed merchandise (via Instagram). The celebration will coincide with the release of Toy Story 5 (2026), which hits theaters on June 19, and the 40th anniversary of Pixar Animation Studios.
While it won’t open in time for Pixar Summer Fest!, Hong Kong Disneyland is also set to debut a new Pixar entertainment experience in 2027. This has been described as an “immersive theatrical adventure.”

Hong Kong Disneyland has undergone a major makeover in recent years, with billions invested into new lands, upgraded attractions, and a broader push to position the resort as a must-visit destination in Asia. Additions like World of Frozen, expanded Marvel offerings, and refreshed entertainment have reshaped the park’s identity, supporting its journey back to profitability.
The resort also shared its financial results for fiscal 2025 today, confirming that it achieved near-record-high revenue at HK$8,694 million. Net profit stood at HK$536 million. Park attendance hit 7.5 million, with overall hotel occupancy sitting at roughly 80% (via Bastille Post).

In the coming years, Hong Kong Disneyland is set to expand its Marvel-themed Stark Expo area with a major new Avengers attraction, widely expected to use a drop-ride system similar to Tower of Terror but built from the ground up. The ride is rumored to center on Spider-Man and feature a storyline involving a Stark Industries demonstration gone wrong, with villains like Doctor Octopus triggering a high-intensity free-fall experience.
Tim Sypko, Managing Director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, said, “Supported by a growing base of Disney fans across key markets and a strong pipeline of new and innovative offerings, HKDL is optimistic about its long-term prospects and confident in its important role as an international travel destination for Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.”
