Disney has debuted another take on its iconic Earful Tower.
The Earffel Tower debuted in 1989 at Disney-MGM Studios (now Disney’s Hollywood Studios) at Walt Disney World. A playful parody of Paris’ Eiffel Tower, its name blended “Eiffel” and “ear” to reflect the giant Mickey Mouse ears perched on top. The structure quickly became the park’s defining icon in its early years.

Positioned near the park’s backlot areas, the Earffel Tower reflected the park’s original focus on filmmaking and studio production. It was removed in 2016 to make way for the construction of Toy Story Land, marking the end of one of the park’s most recognizable early landmarks.
Further afield, however, guests can still find the Earffel Tower in Paris. A version of the structure stands at Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris, where it debuted with the park’s opening in 2002. Like its Florida counterpart, the tower features oversized Mickey ears and serves as a playful tribute to the original icon.
But as the park prepares to re-debut as Disney Adventure World tomorrow, the tower has undergone a big change.
Introducing the Earfell Tower 2.0
Disney’s Earffel Tower has received a major makeover.
As per DLP Report, the structure has received new lighting that marks the edges of Mickey’s ears atop the tower, similar to the version previously found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Fans are impressed by the Earffel Tower’s new look.
“Looks stunning,” said one X, formerly Twitter, user.
Another said, “Oh, it’s 94 again. (Complimentary).”
The only concern among diehard Disneyland Paris fans seems to be the new Disney Adventure World logo, which will be unveiled on the Earfell Tower when its tarp is removed tomorrow. The tower’s tank previously read “Walt Disney Studios Park.”
With the rain coming down, my day at Disneyland Paris comes to an end. Join me tomorrow for the opening of Disney Adventure World!
In the meantime, the new lighting on the Earfell Tower looks great!

“I love it! (But the logo, I’m not going to love it, I refuse),” said one X user.
Most notably, some fans feared that Disney would scrap the Earfell Tower amidst the erasure of the old Walt Disney Studios Park theming. Considering the amount of effort Walt Disney Imagineering has put into sprucing up the structure, however, it seems like it won’t be meeting the same fate as Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ version any time soon.

Beyond the tower, the park’s transformation into Disney Adventure World will introduce major new additions. Guests will soon see Adventure Way, the central promenade leading to Adventure Bay, alongside World of Frozen, a Tangled (2010)-inspired ride, new entertainment, and the official debut of the nighttime spectacular Disney Cascade of Lights.
Future plans for the park include an Up (2009) swings attraction and an entire land inspired by The Lion King (1994). If fan theories are to be believed, an Avatar area is also in the works.
