Guests hoping to use the WiFi on their next Disney vacation may find themselves paying a premium after the introduction of 15% and 17% price increases.

The price increases impact the Disney Cruise Line, where the paywall for internet access at sea underwent a quiet hike earlier this month.

Disney Cruise Line Undergoes Changes

Fresh off the debut of the Disney Destiny in November, Disney is showing no signs of slowing down. The Disney Adventure, initially slated to launch in December 2025, is now expected to begin its maiden voyage in March, with reports suggesting four additional ships are already in development.

Expansion is also extending overseas. The Oriental Land Company, the operator of Tokyo Disney Resort and widely regarded for its exacting standards, has ordered a Wish-class ship set to enter service in 2029 as the first Disney cruise ship based in Japan. Discussions are reportedly underway for a second vessel, underscoring the company’s long-term confidence in Disney’s cruise business.

But amid these changes, guests have also experienced a slew of price increases.

In 2025, the Disney Cruise Line raised its recommended gratuities across all sailings, increasing the nightly cost for guests onboard. Standard stateroom guests are now advised to tip $16 per person, per night, while concierge-level guests face a significantly higher recommended rate of $27.25 per person, per night.

Meanwhile, Disney Cruise Line guests stopping in Hawaii now face higher costs following a recent tax change.

As of January 1, the State of Hawaii has extended its Transient Accommodations Tax (TAT) to include cruise ship passengers, requiring guests to pay an 11% state TAT plus an additional 3% local county TAT. In total, that 14% tax applies to the portion of a cruise fare tied to time spent docked in Hawaii, adding a notable surcharge to itineraries that include the islands.

Disney Cruise Line Increases Internet Prices

Now, WiFi has also increased in price for Disney Cruise Line passengers.

According to Cruise Hive, guests sailing with Disney Cruise Line are reporting higher onboard Wi-Fi prices as of January 2026, with rates now outpacing comparable packages offered by other cruise lines. The increases were applied without advance notice, leaving booked passengers unable to lock in lower prices before departure.

The updated pricing raises Standard Internet 24-Hour Access to $30 per day, up from $26, while the Premium Surfing and Streaming plan now costs $49 per day, previously $42. That reflects increases of roughly 15% and 17%, respectively, for a single device.

Disney Cruise Line also does not offer multi-device discounts for individual guests or families. One plan can be used across different devices by logging in and out, though this workaround quickly becomes impractical for households traveling together.
