Guests arriving at EPCOT today may not immediately notice what changed, but for fans who know the park well, something feels different. Overnight, Disney quietly removed one-sixth of a familiar experience without any announcement, and the shift has already caught attention.

Inside Club Cool, one of the six soda sampling machines is completely out of service. That means an entire station—normally offering eight international soda flavors—is unavailable, instantly shrinking the experience by 1/6.

A Full Club Cool Station Goes Dark Overnight

This isn’t a case of one or two missing drinks. The entire machine is offline, with “try another flavor” markers replacing every soda label. When all six machines are running, Club Cool moves guests through quickly. With one gone, the space feels tighter, and guests spend more time waiting for access to the remaining stations.

Disney hasn’t shared why the machine is down or how long repairs might take. While temporary outages aren’t unusual at Club Cool, losing a full station at once is far more noticeable than a rotating flavor swap.

Why Losing One Machine Changes the Experience

Club Cool works because of variety and flow. Guests expect to bounce between machines, sample unfamiliar flavors, and move on without much delay. When one-sixth of the experience disappears, that rhythm breaks.

Lines build faster. Guests linger longer. First-time visitors miss out on certain flavors entirely, while returning fans are often disappointed to find a favorite unavailable. It may seem small on paper, but in practice, it changes how the space functions—especially during busy holiday weeks.

Other Major Changes Coming to EPCOT

The Club Cool update is just one of several changes rolling through EPCOT over the next few weeks. The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays is wrapping up, meaning seasonal food booths, holiday storytellers, and festive offerings will soon disappear.

Taking its place is the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, which officially begins January 16. That shift brings new menus, art-focused displays, and entertainment that gives the park a completely different feel almost overnight.

Adding to the changes, Disney has announced that Frozen Ever After will close for refurbishment on January 26. The attraction is expected to reopen sometime in February, but its temporary closure removes one of EPCOT’s most popular rides during a busy winter travel period.
