A family was seemingly removed from a Disney park earlier this week after encouraging their child to storm the stage mid-performance.
Disney parks have strict rules that keep the magic running as seamlessly as possible. That includes prohibiting certain attire – whether that’s clothing with overly political sentiments or grown adults convincingly dressed as Disney characters – and banning dangerous or disruptive items from the property.

Guests who do not follow park rules are often removed from the property. In some extreme cases, they can even be trespassed, which means they are legally prohibited from setting foot on Disney property.
Most of the time, guests removed from Disney parks have engaged in violent or antisocial behavior. For example, a guest was thrown out of Disney Springs and trespassed from Walt Disney World Resort earlier this month after a drunken tantrum at The Polite Pig.
Also in December, two sisters were taken into custody after a violent fight inside their hotel room at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The siblings were also trespassed from Walt Disney World property.

Family Removed After Encouraging Poor Behavior From Child at Disney Park
But not all conflict with Disney security stems from violence.
At Shanghai Disneyland this week, a family was seemingly removed from the park after encouraging their child to interrupt a performance of Mickey’s Storybook Adventure.

According to Sina, the theater production – which sees Mickey and Goofy find a magic book that transports them to various fantastical worlds – was in full swing when a child who appeared to be five or six years old ran onstage and tried to hug Mickey Mouse.
Olaf retreated further onto the stage as the production was paused. Onlookers reported that the child appeared to climb the steps to the stage on their own, but that their parents laughed and recorded the incident on their phones.
The parents and child were then apparently escorted out of the theater on Mickey Avenue. Considering the precedent set by previous incidents, they were then presumably asked to leave the park.

A similar incident took place in August 2025, when a man took to the stage during the seasonal production, The Adventure of Rhythm. He then tried to dance with the red panda Mei Mei from Turning Red (2022). Video footage showed him touching Mei Mei before he was escorted offstage, with the performance then paused for a few minutes.
Management then reportedly ordered the man to leave Shanghai Disneyland that day and banned him from returning for two years.
Inside the Magic has covered similar stories from other Disney parks in the past. In 2024, an intoxicated man climbed onto the American Adventure Pavilion stage at EPCOT, where he danced until he was ordered offstage by a Disney cast member.

Also at EPCOT, a group of men were kicked out after invading a stage performance in the Germany Pavilion back in 2023. Two men reportedly stole microphones and screamed into them until Disney security arrived on the scene.
More recently, a child and their mother climbed the barrier at Magic Kingdom’s Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe and proceeded to touch the Sonny Eclipse animatronic. A video shared on social media showed Sonny Eclipse’s set coming to an abrupt stop, likely due to its safety features. The pair were also ordered off the stage, although it’s unclear whether they were then asked to leave the theme park.
