Oz isn’t losing its magic anytime soon. Nearly a year after Jon M. Chu’s Wicked shattered box-office records and redefined what a Broadway musical adaptation could achieve, anticipation is reaching a fever pitch for its second act, Wicked: For Good (2025).
The franchise has evolved from stage juggernaut to cinematic event. With Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande leading as Elphaba and Glinda, the 2024 film soared to more than $750 million worldwide and secured Academy Award nominations for both stars. The sequel – which promises new music and a moodier tone – is already shaping up to be one of 2025’s most anticipated releases.

Speculation is running just as high offscreen. With Universal’s Epic Universe already expanding the theme park landscape in Orlando, fans have wondered if Oz itself could someday join the likes of the Wizarding World, SUPER NINTENDO World, and Dark Universe. That possibility remains a rumor for now (although Mark Woodbury, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Universal Destinations & Experiences, has already said himself that Wicked is “a theme park waiting to happen”), but Universal is already leaning into Wicked’s fanbase in a different, splashy way in the meantime.
A Global Rollout With Star Power
Instead of a traditional Hollywood affair, the studio is taking the Yellow Brick Road on tour.
The Asia-Pacific premiere for Wicked: For Good will be staged inside one of Universal’s own parks, where Erivo, Grande, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, and Chu are all confirmed to appear. A handprint ceremony, immersive fan programming, and a special screening are on the schedule for the event, which takes place at Universal Studios Singapore within Resorts World Sentosa.

It marks the fourth stop in a five-city world premiere series, one designed to bring the franchise directly to its global audience.
Social media has already amplified the excitement: both Erivo and Grande shared the official announcement on Instagram, with Universal pledging live updates for fans who can’t attend in person.

Access for Fans
The fine print? The screening itself is invite-only. For those who still want a piece of the magic, a limited-quantity Premiere Day Special ticket will grant theme park admission, access to the yellow-carpet arrivals, plus food-and-beverage and retail vouchers.

Pricing begins at $93 SGD ($72 USD) for adults and $72 SGD ($55 USD) for children, offering entry to lands like Minions Land and Far Far Away alongside the star-studded event. Tickets are expected to sell quickly, given the demand.
For everyone else, the countdown continues until November 21, 2025, when Wicked: For Good officially opens in theaters. There are, however, preview screenings for Amazon Prime members a whopping four days before the film’s official release.
