One Universal Studios theme park is planning to stay open for over 24 hours in a few months.

While Universal’s theme parks all have certain things in common, each boasts its own quirks that make it extra special. Universal Orlando Resort, for example, is the only Universal destination with multiple theme parks – not to mention multiple Wizarding World of Harry Potter areas – while Universal Studios Hollywood has the unique advantage of sitting on an actual movie production lot.

At Universal Studios Japan, these quirks come in the form of multiple one-of-a-kind attractions, such as the Jurassic Park roller coaster, The Flying Dinosaur, Hollywood Dream – The Ride, and Space Fantasy – The Ride. The park is also home to its fair share of distinct entertainment, including Kuromi Live: Kuromiify the World Tour Crystal Clear, the Universal Monsters Live: Rock and Roll Show (once also found in Florida and Southern California but now closed), and, during spooky season, the Pokémon Unstoppable Halloween Party.

This week, the park confirmed its plans for New Year’s Eve, and they’re just as unique as its other offerings.

NO LIMIT! Countdown 2026 will take place from Wednesday, December 31, 2025, to Thursday, January 1, 2026. During this time, you can enjoy the park to your heart’s content for up to 26 hours starting from New Year’s Eve.

Tickets start at 16,900 yen ($113) per person. They are, of course, limited and do sell out. The event – which runs from 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve to 9 p.m. on New Year’s Day – includes a spectacular Countdown Moment, in which around 4,000 fireworks light up the night sky above Universal Studios Japan at midnight. Meanwhile, the one-night-only Countdown Special Stage features shows such as the One Piece Premier Show 2025 and the Universal Cool Japan 10th Anniversary Singing Show.

Guests can also expect to meet characters from the likes of Sesame Street, Snoopy, Hello Kitty, and Minions while enjoying access to the park’s most hyped attractions. Notably, Area Timed Entry Tickets will be required to enter SUPER NINTENDO WORLD overnight. The area will also be closed temporarily for maintenance at some point in the evening.

Universal Studios Japan closes for regular guests without access to NO LIMIT! Countdown 2026 at 5 p.m. on December 31.

The park hosted a similarly lengthy celebration to mark the beginning of 2025. This saw a temporary nap area introduced for guests sticking around for the full 26 hours.

Will you spend New Year’s Eve at a theme park this year?
