As of September 8, 2025, an opening-day attraction at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has closed forever. The Central Florida theme park hasn’t shared plans for the ride’s replacement.

In August, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay announced the permanent closure of Stanley Falls Flume Ride. This water ride premiered alongside the park’s official grand opening in 1973 (it operated as an animal park and botanical garden for over a decade before adding amusement park attractions).

Sunday, September 7, 2025, was the last chance for Busch Gardens Tampa Bay visitors to experience Stanley Falls Flume Ride. As of Monday, September 8, the attraction is now permanently closed after over 52 years.

Despite Stanley Falls Flume Ride’s permanent closure, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay still offers plenty of attractions, entertainment, and animal experiences for theme park guests to enjoy. The Congo River Rapids still gives guests the chance to get soaked on a hot summer day, while Iron Gwazi, Cheetah Hunt, and Montu remain some of the most popular roller coasters for thrill enthusiasts across Central Florida.
