The guests captured the evacuation footage after being held on the drop at Disneyland Park’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

Disney theme parks may be the place to go to experience all the beloved Mouse House Intellectual Properties (IP), but guests should know that not all attractions will run smoothly during their visit. Ride malfunctions, downtime, and even evacuations are not as uncommon as some may think, and many guests have found themselves in rather unique situations while on a Disney park vacation.

Sharing on TikTok, Hunter and Anthony (@hunterandanthony_) documented their time trapped on the popular Disneyland ride. In the footage, the duo told followers they were being held on the Pirates of the Caribbean drop after hearing the boat “scream.

Later in the video, a cast member can be seen attaching tethers to the boat ride vehicle before firefighters helped guests onto the exit pathway within the attraction. The footage then reveals the guests walking backstage at Disneyland following the evacuation. Watch it unfold below:

Interestingly, this is not the only footage of their Disneyland Resort trip that the couple shared on social media. A viral video, now with over 14 million views, showed the pair moving through a fully-lit Peter Pan’s Flight in Fantasyland after being suspended due to unexpected downtime.

Guests who have visited the Disneyland Resort since mid-May 2025 will have been part of the parks’ 70th anniversary celebration. Opening on July 17, 1955, this year marks seven decades of Disneyland welcoming and entertaining guests.

As part of the celebration, Disney is giving guests lots to experience, including the Wondrous Journeys nighttime show on Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Paint the Night parade, and the World of Color–Happiness! show at Disneyland’s sister park, Disney California Adventure Park.
