One Disney park has unveiled plans to let select guests in early – but not local residents.

Early entry is a perk offered at several Disney parks worldwide, giving select guests access to the parks before regular operating hours. At Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California, hotel guests can enter the parks 30 minutes early each day, allowing for a head start on popular attractions with shorter wait times.

International parks have their own versions of early access. At Disneyland Paris, hotel guests can enjoy an entire hour of Extra Magic Time before non-hotel guests enter Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park. Tokyo Disney Resort offers a 15-minute “Happy Entry” benefit to eligible hotel guests (although access can differ depending on the park or hotel).

Meanwhile, Hong Kong Disneyland’s newest campaign takes a different approach. As part of its effort to encourage international visitors, it offers overseas guests a chance to apply for a special Early Park Entry Pass.

Hong Kong Disneyland is teaming up with the Hong Kong Tourism Board for a new campaign welcoming overseas visitors. Starting June 28, 50 international guests per day can receive an exclusive “Early Park Entry Pass,” granting access to the park before regular hours. Applications for the first round open June 23 at noon, Hong Kong time.

The promotion will run in two phases. Guests selected in Round 1 can use their Early Park Entry Pass between June 28 and July 31. Round 2 begins July 23, with passes valid from August 1 through August 31. Only 50 passes are distributed daily, and guests must apply in advance.

In addition to early entry, visitors can receive a special souvenir. With any merchandise purchase of $100 or more, guests can redeem a 20th anniversary-themed postcard with free international shipping. The offer is valid through August 31, while supplies last.

Postcard redemption is available at two park locations: Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A., and Northern Delights in World of Frozen. This dual benefit campaign offers international fans a unique way to celebrate the resort’s 20th anniversary with early access and a collectible keepsake mailed straight from the park.

This is in addition to the existing Early Park Entry Pass, which is available to all guests – regardless of whether they’re a tourist or local – to pre-purchase for HK $199 ($25.35).

Upcoming Changes at Hong Kong Disneyland

There’s a lot going on at Hong Kong Disneyland this summer as the park gears up to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Hong Kong Disneyland’s “Most Magical Party of All” kicks off June 28 with a spectacular day-to-night celebration featuring all-new entertainment. Highlights include the castle stage show Disney Friends Live: Party at the Castle! with new songs and character outfits for the likes of Mickey Mouse and Duffy.

Meanwhile, the park will welcome the record-breaking Friendtastic! parade featuring 11 floats and 100 performers, including the first parade float themed specifically to Duffy and Friends. Come nightfall, the enhanced Momentous: Party in the Night Sky! nighttime spectacular will incorporate drones, water projections, lasers, projections down Main Street, U.S.A., and pyrotechnics.

Culinary delights abound with over 80 brand-new food and beverage items debuting across the park and resort hotels from June 28. Notable offerings include Party Glam cotton candy, Duffy & Friends Fiesta Donut, Mickey & Friends Grand Tea Party set, and Party Bubbles Apple Peach Soda, plus themed buffets and unique beverages at the Crystal Lotus and Disney Explorers Lodge.

Merchandise-wise, expect over 300 exclusive items launching resort-wide, including six new themed collections available at Emporium and hotel gift shops. Plus, Mickey, Duffy, and the Disney Princesses will be clad in specially designed 20th-anniversary outfits, and cast members will sport commemorative name tags to match the celebratory atmosphere.

The resort hotels join the fun with anniversary-themed experiences beginning June 28, including balloon art, latte art, commemorative invitations, and craft activities. These offerings will be available through June 27, ensuring the festivities extend beyond the park and into the guest experience at all three Hong Kong Disneyland hotels

Further along the line, the park – which recently started turning a profit for the first time in almost a decade, as well as recording its highest attendance to date – is also set to welcome its third Marvel attraction. As announced at Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024, the park is set to welcome a Spider-Man attraction.

Alleged to use the same ride mechanism as Tower of Terror, the ride will see Tony Stark invite Peter Parker to the Stark Expo to showcase some new inventions, only to be crashed by Spider-Man’s enemy, Doctor Octopus.

An “all-new, exclusive Pixar entertainment experience” is also heading to the park, located between Toy Story Land and the park’s newest land, World of Frozen. While details remain thin on the ground, the experience will apparently be “a first and unique” to Hong Kong Disneyland.
