Walt Disney World is home to perhaps one of the best collections of theme park attractions in the world. From classic dark rides like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, thrilling live shows like Festival of the Lion King and Fantasmic, and heart-pumping roller coasters like Space Mountain and TRON Lightcycle / Run, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at Disney World.

Dining plays a big part in a Disney World vacation as well, with the resort featuring dozens of incredible eateries, both sit-down and quick-service. Disney World is also very interactive, allowing guests to truly immerse themselves in the various worlds found at the resort.

However, if guests are a little shy, there’s one experience at Walt Disney World that they will want to avoid entirely.

Nestled toward the entrance of Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is perhaps one of the most unique attractions at Walt Disney World. This show continues Pixar’s classic Monsters Inc. storyline, seeing Mike Wazowski now in charge of capturing laughs in order to power Monstropolis.

Mike’s mission is to put on the funniest comedy show in town, thus generating laughs from the audience to power the city. During the show, guests will get to watch several comedy acts and even participate and tell their own jokes if they wish.

During the show, multiple guests will be called on, making Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor a very interactive experience.

However, some guests may be extremely turned off by the very thought of having to speak into a microphone from their seat or think of a joke on the spot. As such, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor has been known to cause anxiety in more timid guests, with some opting to skip the attraction entirely.

To be clear, Disney is not trying to embarrass its audience members here, but Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor can be a lot, especially for those who consider themselves more introverted than extroverted.

Part of what makes the attraction so anxiety-inducing is that a lot of it is up to chance as to whether or not a guest is picked to speak to Mike and his friends. Waiting the entire length of the show, hoping you don’t get picked, can be exhausting and isn’t a fun way to spend a day at the parks.

All in all, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is an incredibly unique and bizarrely fun attraction at Walt Disney World, but it isn’t for everyone. If you are intimidated by public speaking and using a microphone, you may want to skip this one. However, Disney cast members are very accommodating and have a good sense of who wants to participate and who doesn’t.

Simply sitting near the back or edges of the theater could also diminish your chances of getting picked.

We recommend trying out Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor at least once, but guests are welcome to remove it from their itinerary if they want to.
