A family’s Walt Disney World Resort vacation took a tragic turn when their car went into a ditch on the Central Florida destination’s property. Moments after the accident, another Disney Park guest shared a photo online.
Redditor u/ShadowDocket shared this photo after witnessing a car go offroad at Walt Disney World Resort. The accident appeared to occur near Disney’s Beach Club Resort. In the photo, at least one person had evacuated the vehicle:

“If I’m correct in where I’m assuming this is, driver was probably flying down EPCOT Resorts Blvd and lost it on the curve,” u/ijswijsw commented. “Speed limits exist for a reason.”
Shocked by the incident, Walt Disney World Resort fans shared their own stories of reckless drivers in Florida.

“People be driving way too f**king fast around property,” said u/LaysOnFuton. “It’s actually a problem.”
“Tourist anywhere have no idea how to drive!” u/jason54915 agreed. “I travel ALOT and laugh all the time, you are on vacation why do you even rent a car if you cannot drive? Vegas is just as bad.”

“Was almost run off a Disney road by a semi earlier this year,” u/kittenmcmuffenz replied. “The driver didn’t see us as we took the exit and I guess he or she decided they needed the exit too right there and then.”
It’s unclear if any passengers required medical assistance after the accident. Only one vehicle appears to have been involved. And as u/noefficiency1054 noted, “They’ll have the help they need soon.”

Walt Disney World Resort used to operate its own roadways under the Reedy Creek Improvement District, a right they’d held since 1967. However, the state gained control of the area and its emergency services again when Florida Governor Ron DeSantis dissolved the municipality.
The Republican governor appointed board members to take over the region, now known as the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District. The Walt Disney Company tried to fight the dissolution in court, but a judge dismissed the case last year.
