Fans of legendary musician Adele were devastated last week when the singer-songwriter announced that she was indefinitely ending her career. She tearfully revealed that she intended to disappear from public life during the final show of her residency in Munich, Germany.

Adele jumped on the scene in 2008 with her debut album “19.” She sky-rocketed to fame with subsequent albums “21,” “25,” and “30,” amassing 16 Grammy Awards, 12 Brit Awards, an Academy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe Award.

Over the last three years, Adele focused on performing live. The ten shows in Germany were supposed to mark the end of that period, but a five-week Las Vegas residency initially scheduled for March 2024 was rescheduled to November.
During her final Munich show, Adele reflected on her time spent with her fans:
“I’m not the most comfortable performer, I know that, but I am very f—ing good at it. And I’ve really enjoyed performing for nearly three now, which is the longest I’ve ever done and probably the longest I will ever do.”

Adele said that fans shouldn’t expect to see or hear from her after her five weeks in Las Vegas. The “Easy on Me” singer is ready to focus on her 11-year-old son Angelo and romantic relationship with sports agent Rich Paul.

“I still have exactly five weeks of shows,” Adele said. “But after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time. And I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break. And I will fantasize about these shows and any shows that I’ve done over the last three years.”

An audience member (@officialadelefanpage) shared footage of Adele’s announcement on Instagram:
“but after that [10 shows in Vegas], i will not see you for an incredibly long time… i just need a rest. i’ve spent the last 7 years building a new life for myself, I want to live it now. I want to live my new life I’ve been building” — Adele

Adele shared that she and Paul plan to expand their blended family.
“Once I am done with all my obligations and stuff like that and all my shows, I’m going to have a baby,” the singer said. “And I want a girl because I’ve already got a boy.”

“She’s going to put me in my place all the time, isn’t she?” she joked. “With me as her mother and Rich as her father, she’s going to be a bossy little queen, isn’t she?”
Adele didn’t share exactly how long she planned to disappear from public life. Earlier this year, she said she planned to produce and tour another album, but not for “quite some time.”
