Disney expands AquaDuck fun with AquaLab water play area on Disney Fantasy cruise ship, adds adults-only Satellite Falls

AquaLab, the vibrant splash zone on the Disney Fantasy deck, features playful pipes, spray jets, and whimsical signage—all set just steps away from the exhilarating AquaDuck water coaster for a magically immersive cruise entertainment experience.

A highlight aboard the Disney Dream cruise ship is the first-of-its-kind AquaDuck water coater and with the new Disney Fantasy ship, scheduled to launch next year, Disney is extended the concept in a new water play area, with additional adults-only options as well.

The AquaLab will be a new water play area on deck 12 of the Disney Fantasy, located just outside the entrance of the AquaDuck water coaster. Within its “leaking” walls, pop jets, geysers and bubblers will fill 1,800-square-feet of space. As with the story of the AquaDuck, Donald Duck’s nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie, are involved in the AquaLab, which features water “experiments” that have been left for guests to tend to via hand-painted notes left by the nephews. The goal is to “control” the speed and temperature of the AquaDuck water coaster by turning wheels and moving levers at three stations.

A vibrant water play zone on the Disney Fantasy deck, where guests can dive into interactive fun at AquaLab and race down the exhilarating AquaDuck waterslide, surrounded by playful pipes, sprayers, and splash zones perfect for all ages.

A leaky wall offers invites guests to try to keep water circulating by covering holes in squirting pipes. Likewise, leaky pipes threaten to fill Donald’s row boat with water, with the Ducky Dinghy suspended overhead. As the boat fills up, a fish pops out from a bucket – and everyone gets soaked.

AquaLab’s vibrant splash pad features water jets, whimsical pipes, and playful footprints right on the Disney Fantasy’s deck. The AquaLab logo is visible in the corner, highlighting this signature Disney Cruise Line water play area.

Separate from the AquaLab, on deck 12 forward of the Disney Fantasy, a wading pool with a fountain water feature provides seating, lounge chairs and shade under a canopy.

The adults-only area of the Disney Fantasy is also being expanded from the Disney Dream’s design, not only featuring the Quiet Cove Pool and Cove Bar, but also a Satellite Sun Deck on deck 13, including a new water feature called Satellite Falls – a circular splash pool with benches and a gently falling rain curtain.

Of course, the most water fun on the Disney Fantasy will still be the AquaDuck water coaster, an exhilarating flume ride featuring twists, turns, drops, uphill acceleration and river rapids along the upper decks of the ship. Like on the Disney Dream, Donald’s Pool and Mickey’s Pool for children will offer the biggest swimming areas on the ship in front of a giant LED screen, more than 30 feet wide and 18 feet high. Also returning on the Fantasy is Nemo’s Reef, a children’s water-play area featuring Nemo, Dory, Marlin and a pint-sized water slide shaped like Mr. Ray. Upper decks once again feature Goofy’s Golf, a nine-hole miniature golf course, as well as full-court basketball, table tennis and foosball tables.

In addition, two digital sports simulators will offer virtual game experiences where guests participate in sports such as golf, hockey, soccer, basketball, rugby, baseball and football.
