One of Disney’s newest attractions is preparing to temporarily close its doors.
Peter Pan has been a fixture at Disney theme parks since Disneyland opened in 1955. Peter Pan’s Flight was among the park’s original attractions, taking guests aboard flying pirate ships for a journey over London and Never Land.

The attraction later expanded to Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Shanghai Disneyland, becoming one of the few Disney rides represented at all five resorts.
However, Disney introduced an entirely different take on the 1953 animated classic in June 2024. As part of the $2 billion Fantasy Springs expansion, Tokyo DisneySea debuted Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure, a technologically advanced attraction that combines physical sets, 3D animation, and a motion-based ride system.
Rather than flying aboard a suspended pirate ship, guests board 12-person boats and join Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and the Lost Kids on a mission to rescue John from Captain Hook.
The six-minute experience takes riders across Never Land, recreating scenes from the animated film using synchronized projections and elaborate scenery. Disney Premier Access is available for guests who want to pay to reserve an entry time.

Now, less than three years after its debut, the attraction is preparing for a temporary shutdown.
Disney Confirms Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure Closure
According to the official Tokyo Disney Resort refurbishment schedule, Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure will close on March 9, 2027.
The attraction is scheduled to remain unavailable through March 16, meaning guests visiting Tokyo DisneySea during that eight-day period will be unable to experience the ride.
Operations are expected to resume on March 17, provided the schedule remains unchanged.
Disney has not specified what work will take place during the closure. However, the relatively short shutdown suggests routine maintenance rather than a major overhaul. There is currently no indication that the attraction will close permanently.

The timing is particularly notable given that Tokyo DisneySea will still be celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The park’s Sparkling Jubilee celebration began on April 15, 2026, and will continue through March 31, 2027. The event features special entertainment, merchandise, decorations, and anniversary experiences throughout the resort.
Guests visiting during the final weeks of the celebration will therefore have a brief period when one of Tokyo DisneySea’s newest major attractions is unavailable.
However, Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure isn’t the only attraction scheduled for maintenance in early 2027.
More Disney Attractions Will Close in 2027
Tokyo DisneySea has several additional refurbishments scheduled for the first months of next year.
Journey to the Center of the Earth, one of the park’s signature attractions, will close on January 8 and remain unavailable through March 8, 2027.
Its scheduled return coincides with the first day of Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure’s shutdown.
Meanwhile, both stations of the DisneySea Electric Railway are scheduled to close from January 8 through February 10.
Other attractions will temporarily shut down shortly after Peter Pan returns. Raging Spirits is scheduled to close from March 17 through April 10, while Sindbad’s Storybook Voyage will remain unavailable from March 17 through April 16.

The neighboring Tokyo Disneyland park is also preparing for several closures.
Notably, its original Peter Pan’s Flight attraction will close from January 6 through February 2, 2027, meaning both Peter Pan-themed rides at Tokyo Disney Resort will undergo separate refurbishments within the same three-month period.
Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions is scheduled for a much longer shutdown, beginning January 6 and continuing through March 31. Splash Mountain and Haunted Mansion will also temporarily close in January.
These refurbishments come as Tokyo Disney Resort continues to transform its two theme parks, with several new attractions and major construction projects in development, including a brand-new version of Space Mountain and Disney’s firstĀ Wreck-It RalphĀ (2012)-inspired attraction.
