The longtime Magic Kingdom restaurant is reopening in Liberty Square on October 4, 2026, following several months without its traditional dining operation. Disney has now confirmed exactly when guests can begin making reservations, and the booking window opens just days before the restaurant returns.
Reservations for The Diamond Horseshoe will become available on September 29 at 8 p.m. ET.
That evening launch is especially worth noting for anyone accustomed to checking for new Disney dining reservations earlier in the day. Guests hoping to visit shortly after the reopening may want to have the My Disney Experience app ready when bookings officially begin.
The Diamond Horseshoe Returns October 4
The Diamond Horseshoe has been part of Magic Kingdom for decades, but the Liberty Square location has gone through several changes over the years.
Its latest chapter begins October 4 with a completely new menu built around small plates, specialty drinks, cocktails, and shareable food.
Disney paused table-service dining at the restaurant on May 16, 2026. The closure made way for Jessie’s Roundup, a temporary Toy Story experience created for Cool Kids’ Summer.
That offering operated from May 26 through September 8. Disney had already indicated that dining would return in the fall, but guests now have an exact reopening date and reservation schedule.
The good news is that reservations won’t necessarily be required.
Disney plans to accept walk-up guests as well, meaning visitors who don’t secure a reservation may still have an opportunity to get inside. Of course, anyone determined to visit on opening day or during the first few days may feel more comfortable having a reservation already secured.
That’s where September 29 becomes important.
Instead of simply announcing that reservations are coming soon, Disney has given guests a specific launch time: 8 p.m. ET.
A Very Different Diamond Horseshoe Is Coming
Guests who remember The Diamond Horseshoe primarily for its previous dining setup shouldn’t expect the exact same experience when it returns.
The new menu moves heavily toward smaller, shareable dishes with a frontier-inspired approach.
Among the offerings is a charcuterie selection featuring cured beef, candied bacon, smoked pork, green chile cheese, smoked cheddar, and pickles.
Guests can also order Glazed Sticky Ribs accompanied by cowboy beans and jalapeño crisps. Another option combines queso with barbecue through Queso Fundido with Barbecue Burnt Ends, served alongside warm tortilla chips.
The menu doesn’t stop there.
Sweet Golden Corn Fritters come with cilantro ranch dressing and red chili honey, while the Chipotle Chicken Tostada features queso fresco, lime crema, and pickled cactus salsa.
Disney is also offering a Mini Hot Dog Platter. The hot dogs come wrapped in pastry and are served with tortilla chips and queso.
Taken together, the lineup gives guests several ways to build their own meal rather than relying on one traditional entrée.
That could make The Diamond Horseshoe particularly interesting for groups that want to order several items for the table and sample different dishes.
Disney Is Putting Plenty of Attention on the Drinks, Too
Food isn’t the only major part of the restaurant’s new direction.
The Diamond Horseshoe will offer four specialty non-alcoholic drinks.
One is an Orange Cream Soda combining Fanta Orange with vanilla and cream. Another is the Enchanting Ember Lemonade, which mixes strawberry with hot honey.
Adult guests will find an even larger cocktail selection.
Six cocktails are planned, including the Cactus Rose Margarita. Disney’s version uses LALO Blanco Tequila and prickly pear.
There’s also the Coal’d Fashioned, which combines bourbon with cold brew coffee liqueur. A seasonal cocktail called In Holiday Fashion will join the menu as well.
The beverage lineup will be rounded out by wine and three beers on draft.
That puts considerably more attention on drinks and small plates and gives The Diamond Horseshoe a different identity as it begins this next era.
September 29 Could Be an Important Night for Disney Guests
Anyone hoping to visit The Diamond Horseshoe immediately after its return now has two dates to remember.
September 29 is reservation day, while October 4 is reopening day.
Disney specifically says reservations will become available at 8 p.m. ET on September 29.
Because the reservation window opens only five days before the restaurant itself returns, guests planning early October vacations won’t have much time between securing a table and actually visiting.
There’s also no guarantee that every desired date and time will remain available once reservations begin.
That doesn’t mean guests without reservations are completely out of luck. Disney has confirmed that walk-ups will still be accepted, giving visitors another option if their preferred reservation isn’t available.
Still, anyone who already knows The Diamond Horseshoe is a priority may want to remember that 8 p.m. launch.
Liberty Square Is Getting Its Restaurant Back
The return also restores a familiar dining location to Liberty Square after months of temporary changes.
Jessie’s Roundup served a specific purpose during Disney’s summer offerings, but it was always temporary. With that experience finished, Disney can transition the venue back into a restaurant.
This time, however, The Diamond Horseshoe isn’t simply reopening its doors and going back to business as usual.
Disney has developed a new food and beverage lineup that gives the location a fresh identity. Small plates, shareable options, specialty drinks, cocktails, wine, and draft beer will all play a role when guests return.
The shift could also make the restaurant more flexible depending on what guests want from their visit. Someone could stop in for a few dishes to share, while another group could order several selections and turn them into a larger meal.
And because walk-ups will remain part of the operation, guests won’t necessarily have to plan their entire Magic Kingdom day around a dining reservation.
For those who do prefer having plans locked in ahead of time, however, Disney has finally provided the missing piece.
Reservations open September 29 at 8 p.m. ET through My Disney Experience, and The Diamond Horseshoe officially reopens on October 4. The short turnaround means guests visiting Magic Kingdom during the first week of October won’t have long to decide whether the newly reworked restaurant belongs on their itinerary.
