I think Walt Disney is looking down from heaven and is in tears, watching his beloved theme park attractions being ” refurbished ” which really means they are being removed to make way for attractions based on movies that many didn’t go see or care about. Walt Disney said that his theme parks ” would never be finished.” He didn’t mean that people would tear down the things he and his imagineers created in pursuit of the almighty dollar.
Jess needs to stop writing this crap. MTP has closed many times over the past 71 years. 1983 comes to mind .All of Fantasy land was closed as was the drawbridge at the castle. Maintenance is the main reason for closures. Maintenance can be trimming bushes on TSI, replacing worn parts at the Autopia or repainting the railings encountered while standing in line. Paint takes time to cure. Occasionally, a big refurb project comes along like the bathrooms near Adventure Land (broken pipes.) Monsters Inc is the only ride currently scheduled to permanently go away. The Disneyland calendar only goes out 60 days. What is next? Will you tell us that the Autopia is closing after 71 years? It will close to swap out the gas powered cars and convert to electric cars of the future in Tomorrowland. Perhaps the changeover will take more than 60 days. Even so, we all know that it will return.
