The solution is simple – stop making souvenirs limited! I’m not a real collector so I don’t care for myself, but you would NOT have all the fighting and pushing & shoving, and the ridiculous over priced secondary market if Disney just offered everything in enough quanity to satisfy demand. Disney creates this whole mess being keeping things limited.
This is nothing new. It has been applied to other areas of the park. They do it every December at both Disneyland and California Adventure for all of the people who get there before the gates open in th front in hopes of being able to get the famous candy canes. The last time I did that it was vsery orderly and the process was well run. And all you get is a coupon to allow you to return during a time window to get your fresh candy cane.
