This drives me nuts. The fact that Disney is offering a cool shirt for the Haunted Mansion is awesome. However, Disney is, yet again, holding annual passholders hostage for a money grab. This is disgusting. I don’t have little children, so why would I pay to go to the Halloween party. I also prefer the Very Merry Christmas party, but prices are outrageous. Disney is really saying we don’t want you around annuals unless you give us more money. Again, just another way to play with the annual passholder benefits and its sad.
The yield over volume tactics are getting REALLY OLD! I would imagine especially for the passholders. When programs like annual passes are set up, they’re meant to create a sense of belonging, a joy and sense of great savings. To add caveats to passholder perks that leave a bad taste in said passholders’ mouths due to exclusion is enough to have marketing teams fired (at least under my watch in my company).
How about laying off the abuse of your loyal passholders (and the endless beige remakes) and, oh, I don’t know, work on the long overdue expansion of the most lucrative and flexible franchise – The Muppets?!?!?!
