But this year’s newest Haunted Mansion-themed item comes with an unexpected catch that leaves many Walt Disney World Annual Passholders on the outside looking in.
Disney has revealed a new Annual Passholder-exclusive Haunted Mansion T-shirt for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but owning an Annual Pass alone isn’t enough to buy it. Guests must also purchase a separate ticket to the after-hours Halloween event, creating another example of Disney placing exclusive experiences behind an additional paywall.
Haunted Mansion Takes Center Stage
The newly revealed shirt embraces one of Magic Kingdom’s most beloved attractions with artwork inspired by Haunted Mansion.
The design prominently features the Haunted Mansion’s iconic Hitchhiking Ghosts alongside the playful phrase “Boo to You.” Orange Halloween accents, bats, pumpkins, and other spooky details are mixed throughout the artwork, giving the black shirt a festive seasonal look while paying tribute to one of Magic Kingdom’s most beloved attractions.
It’s the kind of merchandise many fans would happily wear throughout the fall season, even outside the Halloween party.
Disney is also offering a matching Annual Passholder-exclusive pin as part of the collection.

Annual Passholders Still Have to Pay More
Here’s where things become more complicated.
Although Disney markets the collection as an Annual Passholder exclusive, not every Passholder can actually purchase it.
The merchandise will only be sold during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights at the Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A. To buy either item, guests must present a valid Annual Pass and government-issued photo ID. However, simply having an Annual Pass isn’t enough to enter Magic Kingdom once the park transitions to the party.
Guests also need a valid Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ticket. Party guests may enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4:00 p.m., with the event officially running from 7:00 p.m. until midnight.
That means an Annual Passholder who doesn’t purchase a party ticket has no opportunity to buy the exclusive shirt.
Another Example of Disney’s Event Exclusives
Disney has increasingly tied specialty merchandise to separately ticketed events over the past several years.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party already offers entertainment, character meet-and-greets, attraction overlays, trick-or-treating, and specialty food that regular daytime guests cannot experience. Exclusive merchandise has become another major incentive for dedicated fans who don’t want to miss out.
In this case, though, the situation is even more restrictive because the merchandise isn’t simply party-exclusive—it’s party-exclusive and reserved only for Annual Passholders.
That creates a very specific group of eligible buyers: guests who both maintain an Annual Pass and purchase a Halloween party ticket.
Limited Availability Adds to the Appeal
Disney says the Passholder-exclusive merchandise will be available only during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights between August 7 and October 31, while supplies last. Merchandise is intended for personal use and may not be purchased for resale.
Given the popularity of Haunted Mansion merchandise and Disney’s Halloween offerings, the shirt will easily become one of the more sought-after collectibles of the season.
For fans who were hoping their Annual Pass alone would unlock access, however, Disney’s latest Haunted Mansion release comes with one more admission requirement—and another reminder that some of Magic Kingdom’s newest experiences now begin behind an additional ticket.
An Update on Construction at the Haunted Mansion
While Disney is celebrating Haunted Mansion with new Halloween merchandise, work on the attraction itself is also nearing the finish line.
Magic Kingdom’s exterior refurbishment of Haunted Mansion is now almost complete, with most of the major construction elements removed just in time for the fall season.
The biggest change guests will notice is that the large construction scrims and scaffolding that covered much of the mansion’s facade have been taken down. With those barriers gone, visitors can once again enjoy an unobstructed view of the iconic attraction as they walk through Liberty Square.
The restoration also included a nearly complete repaint of the mansion’s exterior. Disney refreshed the building’s facade while updating details on the chimneys, turrets, and the rebuilt atrium, bringing the attraction’s appearance closer to its original opening-day color scheme.
Only minor finishing work remains. Crews continue to complete small touch-ups and final landscaping improvements as Disney prepares for the busy Halloween season.
The surrounding grounds have also received noticeable upgrades. Fresh planting beds, new low-growing shrubs, and young trees supported by stakes now surround the hillside near the attraction’s terrace, giving the area a cleaner, more polished appearance.
Perhaps most importantly for guests planning a visit, Haunted Mansion has remained open throughout the exterior refurbishment. Despite the construction taking place around the building, visitors have continued to experience one of Magic Kingdom’s most iconic attractions while Disney completes its finishing touches.
