Disney Cruise Line is heading back to New York City, giving Northeast travelers another chance to board a Disney ship without making the trip to Florida.

Disney Cruise Line will return to New York in fall 2027 with a limited series of voyages aboard the Disney Wish. The upcoming schedule includes seven sailings between late September and early November, with trips ranging from four to seven nights.

The return is a significant change for Disney Cruise Line. New York has been absent from Disney’s recent sailing schedules, even as the company continues to grow its fleet and expand its presence around the world.

This time, Disney isn’t simply bringing cruises back to the city. The Disney Wish will make its New York debut, opening up the ship to a different group of travelers and offering itineraries to Bermuda, Canada, and New England.

Disney Cruise Line Is Coming Back to New York

Disney Cruise Line last operated cruises from New York in fall 2023, when the Disney Dream sailed to destinations that included Bermuda and Eastern Canada. Since then, New York has disappeared from Disney’s lineup while ports such as Port Canaveral have remained much larger parts of the company’s operation.

That changes on September 29, 2027.

The Disney Wish will begin its New York season with a four-night Bermuda cruise before moving through several different itineraries during October.

The timing also gives Disney Cruise Line a chance to offer something different from its usual Florida departures. Rather than requiring Northeast families to fly south before their vacation even begins, these cruises will allow many travelers to reach the ship by car or train.

For Disney fans who have waited years for New York departures to return, that alone could make the 2027 season attractive.

Disney Wish Will Sail From New York for the First Time

Perhaps the biggest part of the announcement is the ship Disney has selected.

The Disney Wish has never sailed from New York before. The ship will now become the centerpiece of Disney Cruise Line’s return to the city.

Disney is also giving travelers more than one destination to choose from.

Across the seven scheduled sailings, the Disney Wish will visit Bermuda, Saint John, Boston, Halifax, Charlottetown, and Sydney. The final cruise will operate as a one-way itinerary from New York to San Juan, Puerto Rico.

That creates an unusually varied short season.

Guests can choose a quick Bermuda getaway, spend a week exploring Canadian destinations, combine Bermuda and Canada on the same vacation, or use the final sailing as a repositioning trip to Puerto Rico.

The First Disney Wish Cruise Leaves September 29

Disney will start its New York schedule with one of the shortest options.

The four-night Bermuda cruise leaves New York on September 29 and returns on October 3, 2027.

Instead of trying to squeeze multiple destinations into four nights, the Disney Wish will focus on King’s Wharf, Bermuda. Guests will spend two days in port before returning to New York.

Current starting prices listed for that voyage range from $4,222 for an inside stateroom to $8,934 for concierge accommodations. Oceanview rooms begin at $4,422, while verandah accommodations start at $4,814.

The short length could make this one of the more approachable choices for travelers who want to experience the Disney Wish without committing to an entire week at sea.

Disney Then Heads North to Canada and New England

Once the first Bermuda cruise ends, Disney will immediately change directions.

A five-night Canada and New England cruise runs from October 3 through October 8. Rather than heading south toward Bermuda, the Disney Wish will visit Saint John, New Brunswick, and Boston before returning to New York.

This sailing is also scheduled as a Halloween on the High Seas voyage, according to Disney’s listed itinerary information.

That seasonal element will continue across several of the October cruises.

The five-night itinerary currently starts at $4,275 for an inside stateroom. Oceanview accommodations begin at $4,625, verandah rooms at $5,215, and concierge accommodations at $10,305.

One Cruise Combines Bermuda and Canada

Travelers who don’t want to choose between heading north or south will have another option.

Disney has scheduled a six-night Bermuda and Canada cruise from October 8 through October 14.

That voyage will stop at King’s Wharf in Bermuda as well as Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Prices currently begin at $5,689 for an inside stateroom, with oceanview accommodations starting at $6,109. Verandah rooms begin at $6,697, while concierge pricing starts at $12,817.

This is one of the more distinctive itineraries of Disney’s New York season because it combines two very different destinations within the same six-night vacation.

Disney Will Offer Two More Bermuda Cruises

Bermuda will remain a major part of the Disney Wish’s New York schedule throughout October.

Disney has two consecutive five-night Bermuda cruises planned. The first departs October 14 and returns October 19. The second runs from October 19 through October 24.

Both cruises visit King’s Wharf and currently carry the same starting prices.

Inside staterooms begin at $4,865, oceanview accommodations at $5,215, verandah rooms at $5,805, and concierge accommodations at $11,190.

Both are also scheduled as Halloween on the High Seas cruises.

For Disney fans who enjoy the cruise line’s seasonal offerings, October could therefore be the sweet spot for booking from New York.

A Seven-Night Canada Cruise Arrives in Late October

The longest round-trip cruise of Disney’s 2027 New York season will begin on October 24.

The seven-night Canada itinerary will visit Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island, Sydney in Nova Scotia, and Halifax before returning to New York on October 31.

It is another Halloween on the High Seas sailing and offers the most extensive Canadian itinerary of Disney’s New York schedule.

Current prices start at $5,960 for an inside stateroom. Oceanview accommodations begin at $6,436, verandah rooms at $7,038, and concierge accommodations at $14,136.

Disney’s Final New York Cruise Won’t Come Back

Disney has saved one of the most interesting itineraries for last.

The Disney Wish will leave New York on October 31 for a five-night cruise that ends in San Juan on November 5.

Unlike the previous voyages, this is a one-way cruise. Guests will visit King’s Wharf before eventually arriving in Puerto Rico rather than sailing back into New York.

The itinerary also carries the lowest listed starting prices of the New York season.

Inside accommodations begin at $3,771, oceanview rooms at $4,121, verandah accommodations at $4,611, and concierge rooms at $8,826.

It essentially serves as the finale to Disney Wish’s brief stay in New York while repositioning the ship away from the city.

New York Gives Disney Cruise Line Another Major Option

Disney’s decision to return comes as Disney Cruise Line continues growing beyond the routes and ports that have traditionally dominated its schedule.

For years, Florida has been the natural center of Disney’s cruise business, particularly with Disney’s enormous presence at Port Canaveral.

But an expanding fleet gives Disney more flexibility.

Instead of keeping nearly all of its attention on a smaller group of major ports, the cruise line can move ships around and offer more seasonal departures from different regions. Disney has also recently expanded relationships with St. Maarten and San Diego.

New York fits naturally into that strategy.

It gives Disney access to one of the largest population centers in the country while opening convenient departures to Bermuda and Eastern Canada.

It also means Disney fans in the Northeast will once again have a Disney Cruise Line vacation that doesn’t necessarily begin with an airport.

Disney’s New York Return Won’t Last Long

There is one catch for anyone excited about Disney Cruise Line returning to the Big Apple: the 2027 season is short.

The first Disney Wish sailing leaves September 29, while the final voyage departs October 31 and ends in San Juan on November 5. In total, Disney has seven itineraries scheduled during that period.

That makes this a limited return rather than a permanent year-round New York operation.

Still, after Disney Cruise Line’s multi-year absence from the city, having the Disney Wish arrive in Manhattan will represent a notable comeback.

Travelers will have Bermuda cruises, fall trips through Canada and New England, Halloween on the High Seas sailings, and even a one-way voyage to Puerto Rico to choose from.

Most importantly, Disney Cruise Line is putting New York back on its map.

After last sailing from the city in 2023, Disney will finally return in 2027 — and this time, it’s bringing the Disney Wish with it.
