Maybe if Disney lowered their prices, there wouldn’t be as much resort hopping. It is the best way to enjoy the magic when you can’t afford the Park prices. Also..it generates revenue, so what is their issue?!
During our GF stay in April we noticed security involved at the pool at one point (assuming it was non-guest loitering) and additionally on our last day post check out, we as a family were permitted to remain onsite (with paper wristbands) in order to enjoy a little bit more pool time before our flight! We great appreciated these services as multi-time “paying” GF guests!
It is one thing to restrict pool hoping. It is another to tell me if I am staying at a Disney Deluxe resort that I cannot go to another resort for a drink or a casual lunch (don’t have a reservation)
We often stay at the Boardwalk. They won’t lock that down….the casual places there people can walk by, etc. But I can’t walk to the Poly or GF to have a drink or grab something to eat?
I the early part of June, I was able to ride my scooter from the end of the Polynesian Village closest to the TTTC all the way around to the Contemporary, going through the Poly, past the Poly Tower, through the Grand, past the Magic Kingdom and past the Bay Lake Tower. It was wonderful not having to wait on lines for the monorail with crowds of people! If that is blocked off, I will be very disappointed the next time I visit!!
Likely an effort to crackdown on pool, resort, and park hopping. The Disney greed knows no bounds. Maybe if they lowered their prices and went back to pre covid prices and policies much of this would sort itself out!
I think it’s time for guest caps to enter the political discourse in Orlando and Orange County. Disney floods our roads and leeches our utilities, but does everything they can to thumb their nose at the people who actually live here and teaches their “guests” to do the same. There needs to be a limit.
I’ve never even been to Walt Disney World, but if I did, and was paying hundreds of dollars a night, only to barely be able to move around the lobby because it was so crowded, I’d be very upset. It happened to my sister and her family several years ago during their stay at the Grand Floridian. They saved up for years to stay there during the Holidays, and the lobby was so crowded at times that they could barely move around. I have never in my life just walked into a fancy resort complex to avail myself of amenities, other than a restaurant. Greed may be involved, but consideration for Guest experience is also a factor.
No, it’s all greed. They don’t care about your experience at all, as all of their other decisions over the last several years have proven. If greed is a possible explanation, greed is the reason.
That’s not my idea of a gingerbread house. You can’t get unsuspecting little kids to come closer with a Midwestern cabin. No gumdrops or candy canes? Maybe a video game playing as you look into the window?
