On Tuesday, Disney Parks Blog shared all the must-know details about the upcoming Halloween season at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Unfortunately, buried in all the exciting news was confirmation that Disneyland Resort will not offer its traditional Frightfully Fun parade during Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 due to ongoing construction of a Coco (2017) attraction.

No Frightfully Fun Parade at Disneyland Resort in 2026

On June 2, Disneyland Resort made several announcements about Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 at Disney California Adventure Park. The Southern California Disney park confirmed the return of attraction overlays in Cars Land and Avengers Campus, as well as the “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” show at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land.

New offerings include a D23 Member-exclusive Oogie Boogie Bash event on September 27, and the all-new “Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party,” including appearances of rare characters from the Disneyland Park attraction. Ichabod Crane will appear throughout the park at scheduled times nightly, evading the Headless Horseman (who usually kicks off the Frightfully Fun parade).

NEW: “Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party” will debut at Oogie Boogie Bash from August 18 through October 31 at Disney California Adventure!

Disneyland Resort appears to have designed “Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party” to make up for the lack of the Frightfully Fun parade at the 2026 Oogie Boogie Bash events. Elements from the Haunted Mansion float in the Frightfully Fun parade are likely to appear during the new entertainment offering. However, it’s unknown whether Disney will incorporate elements from other floats, such as the Disney Villains and The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), elsewhere at Oogie Boogie Bash.

Walt Disney Imagineering is currently constructing a Coco ride on the edge of Disney California Adventure Park, near one of the gates that the Frightfully Fun parade usually uses. Construction also continues on an Avatar (2009)-inspired area in Hollywood Land and a new attraction in Avengers Campus, though both of these projects are less likely to have influenced Disneyland Resort’s decision to pull the Frightfully Fun parade.
