A James Bond movie usually comes with a familiar checklist. The actor playing 007, larger-than-life villains, state-of-the-art gadgets, and, of course, the title sequence and accompanying theme song that set the tone of the adventure ahead, before a single bullet is even fired from Bond’s signature PPK.
That immediately brings to mind the long line of title sequences from the movies. From Shirley Bassey’s “Goldfinger” to Adele’s “Skyfall” and Billie Eilish’s “No Time To Die”, the franchise has always treated its theme songs and opening visuals as part of the story, not just decoration.

New James Bond Title Sequence Revealed
While the upcoming film reboot from Amazon MGM Studios has yet to reveal anything besides its creative team — director Denis Villeneuve (Dune, Dune: Part Two) and writer Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) — Bond‘s iconic title sequence has now carried over into gaming, with IO Interactive’s upcoming third-person action-adventure 007 First Light.
007 First Light stars Irish actor Patrick Gibson, who’s best known for the Paramount+ series, Dexter: Original Sin (2024). The supporting cast includes Priyanga Burford (M), Kiera Lester (Miss Moneypenny), Naomie Ackie (Miss Roth), Alastair Mackenzie (Q), Lennie James (John Greenway), Gemma Chan (Selina Tan), and Lenny Kravitz (Bawma).

Who’s Singing the new James Bond Theme?
Since the game was announced a year ago, it’s clear the developer is leaning heavily into the cinematic side of Bond. And now they have unveiled the full titles sequence for the new game, styled just like the films. The opening credits were unveiled one day after Lana Del Rey was confirmed as the artist behind the accompanying theme song, titled “First Light”.
This dual reveal reinforces how closely IO Interactive is tying music and visuals together in the same tradition as the films. Styled in the same vein as classic Bond title sequences, it pairs stylised imagery with Del Rey’s track, continuing the franchise tradition of using music and visuals to frame the story before gameplay even begins. “Follow James Bond as a young, resourceful, and sometimes reckless recruit in MI6’s training program, and discover an origin story of the world’s most famous spy,” the official synopsis for the game reads.
007 First Light will be released on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows on May 27, 2026.
There’s no release date for the untitled film reboot.
