Disney Parks fans are buzzing with the news that construction equipment has been spotted on a plot of land earmarked for a third theme park at Disneyland Paris Resort. Here’s what we know about the project, and whether it’s related to the development of an additional gate at the only European Disney destination.
Construction Equipment at Potential Disney Theme Park Site

On Monday, X (formerly known as Twitter) user @DLPReport shared several aerial photos of construction equipment staged on an empty plot of land across the road from Disney’s Sequoia Lodge at Disneyland Paris Resort. The account explained that this area has long been rumored as the potential site of a third Disney theme park in Europe:
🔧 Staging is ongoing on the land across Disney Sequoia Lodge, commonly referred to as earmarked for a third gate. Don’t get too excited though as it’s likely related to the hotel’s refurbishment.

Unfortunately, this construction activity does not imply that Disneyland Paris Resort plans to add a third theme park anytime soon. The European Disney destination recently kicked off a planned refurbishment of Sequoia Lodge, reinventing the space with new natural, woodsy elements and odes to wildlife.
Disney’s Sequoia Lodge Refurbishment

Unlike recent refurbishments at Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel and Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Sequoia Lodge will remain open during the months-long refurbishment. The lobby and all guest areas (including rooms) will transform in phases, allowing Disneyland Paris Resort guests to enjoy parts of the Disney Resort hotel throughout the project.
Disneyland Paris Resort hasn’t announced when the refurbishment will be complete.
Disneyland Paris Resort Overhaul

The refurbishment at Disney’s Sequoia Lodge is just one part of a massive ongoing transformation at Disneyland Paris Resort. Several restaurants and merchandise locations at Disney Village, including McDonald’s and the Disney Store, are closing in favor of more modern versions.
Disney cast members are putting the finishing touches on a new security area at the shopping and dining district, preparing for the influx of visitors when the ongoing projects are complete.
Meanwhile, Walt Disney Studios Park is welcoming its final guests as it prepares to reopen as Disney Adventure World on March 29, 2026. The reimagined park will debut several new rides, including a Tangled (2010) spinner, a modern nighttime spectacular called Disney Cascade of Lights, and the World of Frozen.
Disneyland Paris Resort is also constructing a Lion King (1994) land and log flume ride at the park, scheduled to open at a later date. An Avatar (2009) land is rumored for the park, but has not been confirmed.
